Leo Tolstoy has the best diary entries ever.
Sept 19th, 1858.
“Decided that one must love and work, and that’s it.”
Sept 20th:
“Tired. Didn’t love and didn’t work.”
March 31st, 1852.
“Woke up at 6 o’clock, woke everyone up;
I did not get up and slept until 9.”
January 25th 1851
“I’ve fallen in love or imagine that I have; went to a party and lost my head.
Bought a horse which I don’t need at all.”

You're not getting this yet. The nature of reality is inverted. You think the world is the cause and you're the effect. It's not. You're the cause and reality is the effect.
It's all a projection happening from within you. Everything you encounter: the people, circumstances, challenges and joys. It's a reflection of the data you're holding in your consciousness. It's all a mirror. And you have to learn how to interpret your reality through your emotional reactions.

“There is only one way and that is your way; there is only one salvation and that is your salvation.”
this is from the red book, jung focuses in this part of the book mostly on "individuation". meaning that you can't someone else's path, values etc. you need to make your own
especially the ending is so powerful of your paragraph, one of his best imo

For those who have experienced this journey with me over the years, you know what I strive to create is first and foremost storytelling.
The Anyma show is a science-fiction story about darkness and light, destruction and creation, fear and hope. Like many stories, it weaves through darker chapters before reaching resolution.
Taking one scene from any film or work and presenting it out of context as the meaning of the entire project is fundamentally misleading. In my story, light ultimately prevails.
For the past five years, my team and I have built and toured a visual universe in collaboration with artists, designers, and animators. We continuously reference the great classics, drawing inspiration from art history, mythology, and ancient literature. There are no direct representations of religious figures and there is no intention to attack or disrespect any religion or culture.
Selected darker moments from our story and show were taken out of context, manipulated with AI, paired with other music and circulated online to manufacture a false sinister narrative that simply does not exist and does not reflect the show’s essence or intention.
Let me be clear. None of my visuals are AI-generated and the greatest irony is that AI was used to alter my work by those who condemn it and they ultimately turned it into something to fit their own narrative. My art was turned into social media and political propaganda. What happened next is unacceptable….
Neither my team, the promoter, nor I received any meaningful warning or opportunity for dialogue before the show was cancelled. Nobody asked us to explain the work, provide context or discuss possible adaptations. We were and are ready to do so.
We strongly reject the false religious and political meaning being attributed to this work.
We have performed around the world and have always engaged in respectful conversation according to the local culture and customs. We would have willingly done the same in Türkiye, had legitimate concerns been raised through dialogue.
We intend to appeal the decision and will continue trying to find a path back to Türkiye and to the Turkish people.
Most importantly, thank you to the fans in and outside of Türkiye who bought tickets and were travelling to this beautiful country for this experience. Many of you who understand and welcome our art, your support and understanding means everything to me.
Our channels remain open and we are willing to meet with the necessary authorities, explain our work, and provide its full artistic context.
Art can be questioned, challenged and debated, but we ask it to be judged for what it actually is, not for what someone else can manipulate it to appear as.
I hope we can come back and finish the story in Istanbul together.

Why I hate being around negative people.
“Being an asshole is a weak person’s idea of strength.
Complaining is their connection.
Never let yourself be held back by other people’s fears.
People criticise what they are afraid to do themselves.
Because bold action reminds them of their own inaction.
If you’re afraid to be criticised: why do you care about the opinions of those who are too timid to do it themselves?
If you are the criticiser: does tearing down someone who has the courage you lack make you better?” — @Markmanson

How to get what you want.
“Ambition is when you expect yourself to close the gap between what you have and what you want.
Entitlement is when you expect others to close the gap between what you have and what you want.” — @JamesClear
The smartest people I know have strong opinions weakly held and change them when new information arises
The dumbest people I know keep their opinions the same just so they can remain consistent
Time changes too fast try remain consistent, better to sail the waves to wherever they are taking you!
🎒After a decade, I have made nomads.com free for everyone now!
Well almost free, it's $1 to sign up to avoid getting lots of spam
The reason is
1) I have made enough money (from it)
2) charging for a community artificially limits the size, if you put the price at $299 you get 50 new members per month, at $99 you get 200 people, at $29 you get 400 people, etc.
And this always annoyed me, I don't want to put a limit but I had to, to be able to make money from it, so it's free now
I want it to be it the biggest community for digital nomads, world travelers, sovereign thinkers and network state type people
For years it has has a great sponsor with @SafetyWing and I think that's maybe a better model for the future, get much more people in and then just add more sponsors
Right now for the record it has 43,252 paid members (so about 300/mo for 12 years!), so it will be interesting to see what it can grow too
I think now that AGI is on the horizon (or some say already here), online and offline (IRL) communities will become really important. People are talking more to AI now than to humans, and there was already a loneliness epidemic before AI
Making new friends and dating is not so easy for people now. And with remote work and entrepreneurship, people lack a space like an office where people would usually make friends or meet partners
I made most of the friends I have now through traveling and living around the world for the last 10+ years (and many via my site too), and I also met my girlfriend through those friends! So I think communities can have a real role in that post-AGI
Post-AGI business wise, communities also have a moat where many of my SaaS apps do not. So there is some urgency I feel to make Nomads in to the best community there is for those people. But that's why I have to remove any limitations to its growth now
So in a way after 12 years I am switching to the subsidized VC model a bit, but still 100% bootstrapped, kinda like "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain"
Having enough money now I can afford to do these things and figure out the business model later, which I think will be more sponsors
Enjoy and please sign up and tell me what to improve!!! 😊
Replying to @alvivanco
We have to build stuff that AGI cannot replace
Like human connection, audience (X for ex), community (Nomads.com for ex)

A student asked: 'When will I be ready to guide others?'
Master replied: 'Are you breathing?'
'Yes,' they said.
'Are you suffering?'
'Yes.'
'Are you healing?'
'Yes.'
'Then you're ready.'
'But I'm not perfect!'
'Perfect guides are useless guides.
Wounded healers are real healers.'
The world needs your messy medicine.
This is spot on:
Most people hiring coaches actually need guides.
They don't need:
— Another morning routine
— More productivity hacks
— Better goal-setting
—Strategic frameworks
They need:
— Permission to fall apart
— Space to question everything
— Witness to their unraveling
— Present moment truth
I charge more to do less. Because presence is priceless.

GPS is a tremendous tool that requires 2 key inputs:
1) our current position
2) our desired destination
Similarly, we must accept where/who we are AND get clear on who we want to become. Then we can identify the steps that will lead us in that direction. 🗺️🧭
