Today means a lot to me: we’ve decided to make our Cancer AI free for every cancer patient and family around the world. We believe AI should be a force for good—and helping 50 million people living with cancer fight for a better future is one of the most meaningful things it can do. I earned my PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Harvard Medical School, but cancer became deeply personal when my father was diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer. I moved back to Hong Kong to care for him. Thankfully, he is still doing well and continues to fight. Over the past four years, I’ve experienced firsthand the fear, confusion, frustration, and helplessness that so many cancer patients and their families go through. When someone you love has cancer, you want to do everything you can—but too often, it’s incredibly difficult to know what to do next, whom to trust, or where to find the right help. To help my dad, I built a suite of AI tools and connected with doctors, researchers, and medical resources around the world. These tools and this network have helped our family navigate some of our hardest moments. Now, we want to share everything we’ve built with others—so more patients can access the information, tools, and support they need, and fewer families have to face cancer feeling lost or alone. We also hope this mission will bring together more doctors, researchers, engineers, patients, families, and builders who believe in the same future. We believe AI can transform cancer care and bring us closer to curing cancer within the next decade. One small thing we built at @CancerDAOxyz : The patient can ask the AI, in plain language, to look up their tumor marker history and plot the trend. For example: “Can you plot my CEA trend?” It turns scattered lab values into a simple chart you can actually discuss with your doctor.
