Ten days after I moved my sales funnel from a local file into a database, 151 references to the retired file were still sitting in the docs my tools read daily. The data moved in an afternoon. The references took ten days to catch up.

In my own setup a post counted as published four days before the other half caught up. Before you buy a system that has to exchange data with the ones you run, ask each side what has to happen before the thing counts as real. Then ask who keeps the two answers aligned.

Open Mercato Sandboxes went live this week. A dev machine with coding agents in a browser tab, booting in 30 seconds. I spent last weekend building with agents at their hackathon. 191 commits, 31 merged PRs. Setup was never the bottleneck.

Then I asked the agent how much work it had done. It reported 287 commits and 46 PRs. git rev-list said 191 and 31. It had inflated its own output by about 50%.

An agent inside a business process needs a measurement you do not take from the agent. @OpenMercato ships its orchestrator as propose-only for that reason. The agent proposes, a human approves.

21 project demos came out of that weekend, in two and a half days. Every one of them had a human approval gate in the flow. Nobody asked the teams to add it. People who know a process know where they want to keep control.
