We are beginning a major mobility initiative in Nallurhalli, a 2km project to improve movement, and pedestrian facilities. The first of the work begins tomorrow, Sunday, Oct 4 at 7am. See invite. Read the thread for the details on the work that has led to this point over the course of one year. ### 🚨 NALLURHALLI, LET’S GET MOVING! 🚨 This Sunday, we’re turning an idea into action. Whitefield Rising and local residents are coming together to kick off a 2-km mobility improvement initiative in Nallurhalli — a community-led effort to tackle congestion and make our neighbourhood easier to move through. And it starts with 40 metres - SEE THE ABOVE PICTURE! A local landowner has stepped forward and given up a portion of his property frontage so the road can be widened and made motorable. The groundwork is done. The steel is in place. Now we pour the concrete. 💪🏽 📍 Sunday, Oct 4 | 7 AM 📍 Near Shiva Temple, Nallurhalli 📍 Location: maps.app.goo.gl/4Q1UsJg4PS6n… Come be there as we mark the first step of a much bigger community effort. Because fixing our neighbourhoods cannot always wait for someone else to do it. - Residents can identify the problem. - Residents can come together. - Residents can make things happen. This is 40 metres. We’re here for the 2 kilometres. Come join us. Bring your energy. Bring your neighbours. Let’s get Nallurhalli moving! 🚀
Nallurhalli New Temple Road: 2km loop initiative, and a community determined to fix it. If you commute through Nallurhalli, you know it can feel like playing the live version of Temple Run every single day. 😅 For the last year, Whitefield Rising and local residents have been working together to tackle the bottlenecks that make this 2-km loop so difficult for commuters, pedestrians and residents.

I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens. Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem. If you're not happy with the footpath (or a pothole, or anything else which is broken), fix it, or call someone to fix it, and don't give up until it's fixed. Be relentless. Be vocal. Be creative. Make it your mission to get that one thing fixed. Look at what Virendra (@Virendra0698) did by just calling the right people and being respectful (but also persistent). He and Arun Pai (@arunpaiblrwalks) along with the help of GBA and some wonderful volunteers turned an unofficial garbage dump into a pristine, beautiful footpath through sheer force of will. xitter.cf/Virendra0698/status/21…

Bengaluru: For the last 1 year, short tunnel project has progressed briskly fully disregarding processes and rules. A casual DCM statement hastily converted into a project isn't "development" It is wanton destruction on Hebbal Lake ecology. Speakup NOW to stop this nonsense.

massive update! claiming victory on the most dirtiest spot i’ve seen in bangalore. we transformed it in less than 10 days. wind tunnel road is no longer a garbage blackspot. here's exactly how we did it: step 0: when i saw the video post by @madhuriadnal, i called mr. bhimesh (DGM) and mr. ravi (AGM) at BSWML. there was immediate action. @arunpaiblrwalks joined the next day, and we had an approximate plan for execution ready. step 1: a one time clean up of all the legacy waste. this isn't the fix but it gives you a start so you can track how much waste gets dumped overnight. BSWML also made sure garbage collection happened every day from the areas around. step 2: study the content and quantity of garbage. figure if it is household, restaurant or street vendor waste. step 3: basics of broken windows theory. we illuminated the spot with a floodlight and parked a garbage auto there at night. people started dropping waste bags in the auto instead of on the road. by step 3 (~day 4) we knew most of the waste came from street vendors on wind tunnel road and some of it from residents who miss the morning pickup. step 4: early beautification. a green net along the bridge, the walls painted white. people don't dump when a place is maintained, illuminated, and beautified. step 5: enforcement. a marshal was on site for a couple of nights, fining and educating people who dumped. we started seeing results. overnight dumping dropped sharply, and more than once we saw people pick up what they'd thrown and put it in the auto. step 6: take over the space by final beautification, a kerb, reflective bollards, and a footpath. on the final day everyone showed up. @GBA_office, BSWML, arun and his team, regular volunteers, and people who'd followed along here on X. we painted the wall and planted saplings. (the great volunteers @amitpgupta @frunkad @__jstar @anurag25phadnis @shbhmmshr)
hi @madhuriadnal, thanks for recording this. i just spoke to mr. bhimesh (BWSML deputy general manager) to get this cleared up asap. BWSML said this will be done early morning tomorrow because the garbage collecting folks work until 2:30 PM. they’ve promised to send pictures/videos after getting this done. i got in touch with him using iknowaguy.help/bangalore/fin……. let’s see what happens.

@krishnabgowda - Mahadevapura’s civic groups keep hoping that infrastructure will finally improve. Their endless optimism allows you to get away with repeated promises without ever bothering to follow it through. I am waiting to see a school's update on the performance of their buses post today's rains.

#OurMobilityOurVoice #BetterBengaluru SH-35 corridor - Our team was out again this afternoon, at #Varthur and on Old Madras Road. What we saw was trucks, not the road. Heavy vehicles backed up through the same stretches where our school buses lose an hour or more, almost every single evening. This is not a one-off, it is the pattern. We also saw former MLA @ArvindLBJP , husband of the current MLA @MALimbavali examining the work in Varthur. Thank you for your efforts in working with the current govt / Minister @krishnabgowda on improving this stretch. Long over due Here is the thing: next week is the break for us, and for most schools in the area too. Fewer school buses, fewer children and families away on vacation for a few days. If there is ever a window to take up major repair and widening work on this corridor with the least disruption to residents, it is this one. We would urge the authorities to use it. We keep saying this because we believe it: we are not pointing fingers, we just want this corridor fixed, properly and for good, not patched until the next complaint. Thousands of us use this road every single day, and we want to contribute to making it better. #SH35 @krishnabgowda @PriyankKharge @GBAChiefComm @blrcitytraffic @wftrps @CPBlr @Jointcptraffic @DCPTrEastBCP @GBA_office @BPACofficial @dcpwhitefield @WFRising @sarjapuraps @SarjapuraRWA @rk_misra @MansoorKhanINC @PCMohanMP @MALimbavali @ArvindLBJP @BShivannaAnekal

One of our Grade 1 students, on this evening’s long, rain-soaked bus ride home. As roads flooded, our teacher turned the wait into a conversation about the problem we keep raising here. Here’s what this six-year-old came up with, on his own: “First we take all the pictures, then put it into a drive, then give it to the government. Then they see it, they see what’s the problem, and they make some pipes, so all the drainage water…” Document the problem. Share it with those who can fix it. A six-year-old has just described the thinking behind Our Mobility, Our Voice! That’s the Inventurer spirit & approach - identify a problem and thinking about what we can do to be positive #changemakers Proud of our learners - students and teachers for nurturing that spirit, and converting a challenging ride home, into a learning opportunity #OurMobilityOurVoice #BetterBengaluru #SH35 @krishnabgowda @PriyankKharge @GBAChiefComm @blrcitytraffic @wftrps @CPBlr @Jointcptraffic @DCPTrEastBCP @GBA_office @BPACofficial @dcpwhitefield @WFRising @sarjapuraps @SarjapuraRWA @rk_misra @MansoorKhanINC @PCMohanMP @MALimbavali @ArvindLBJP @BShivannaAnekal

Today’s school bus data offers encouragement & a reason to keep going - MORNING 48 of 60 routes on time or early. Just 12 late…the fewest in the 10 mornings tracked since 28 September, compared with last week’s average of 28. Ten of those 12 were within 5 minutes. Varthur–Gunjur routes averaged 1.8 minutes early, compared with 18.9 minutes late on 1 October. Balagere routes averaged 1.2 minutes early, compared with 22.2 minutes late. Routes serving Hoodi and Channasandra recorded the biggest improvements since Thursday - arrivals 21–23 minutes earlier. EVENING 56 of 61 routes on time or early against the schedule for our 1:50 PM departure. Arrivals averaged 23.6 minutes ahead of schedule, compared with 19.5 last week and 15.0 the week before. 44 routes have been on time or early for all six evenings tracked. STILL ON OUR WATCH LIST HSR Sector 6 and La Ville were more than 10 minutes late this morning. Skylark Arcadia, Rainbow Drive and KSRP Quarters, Kudlu have been late on all six mornings, though by a few minutes. Law College and Surya Elegenza were late on four of six evenings. One good morning does not mean the problem is solved. Rain, breakdowns and other incidents can change the picture. We’ll keep measuring, sharing and working together And yes, schools are beginning to go on vacation, so that may be contributing to less traffic on SH35 Thank you @blrcitytraffic @wftrps, the government, GBA and our school team for the sustained effort. Let’s make days like today the rule. #OurMobilityOurVoice #BetterBengaluru @krishnabgowda @GBAChiefComm @CPBlr @Jointcptraffic @DCPTrEastBCP @GBA_office @BPACofficial @dcpwhitefield @WFRising @sarjapuraps @SarjapuraRWA @rk_misra @MansoorKhanINC @MALimbavali @ArvindLBJP @AntoniDaszo

Bengaluru North City Corporation has directed NHAI, BMRCL & BWSSB to urgently address drainage issues, service road damage & obstructions caused by Metro works along National Highway from Hebbal Junction to BNCC limits. A joint inspection on Oct 5 identified inadequate stormwater drain openings, blocked drainage paths due to Metro construction & water leakage near Godrej in Hebbal, damaging the service road. NHAI has been asked to provide grated drain openings at 50-metre intervals wherever required. BMRCL must ensure alternative drainage, while BWSSB must fix the leakage & restore the damaged road. All three agencies must submit compliance reports. @BNCCofficial @NHAI_Official
Bengaluru North City Corp. Commissioner P Sunil Kumar directed NHAI to ensure Hebbal flyover service road work prevents waterlogging and traffic snarls near Esteem Mall. He urged early completion, gratings for drainage, and led a cleaning drive on Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan Rd, Subbannaiah Palya, HRBR 7th Main, Maruthi Nagar & Kogilu Main Rd.

🚨 Illegal Transportation of Animal Waste: Vehicle Owners Fined ₹30,000 📍 Banaswadi | Ward 27 | Sarvagnanagara Division 📅 12 October 2026 Following a public complaint regarding the illegal transfer of animal waste from one vehicle to a larger vehicle on Chicken Road in Banaswadi, the Bengaluru North City Corporation took action against the vehicle owners. 📸 On October 7, 2026, members of the public shared photographs and videos of the incident. Although Corporation marshals were immediately dispatched to the spot, the vehicles had already left. 🔎 Based on the vehicle registration numbers captured in the evidence shared by the public, the vehicles and their owners were traced. Despite the vehicles and the animal waste not falling under the jurisdiction of Bengaluru North City Corporation, the owners were warned and a penalty of ₹30,000 was imposed. 🤝 Public Cooperation Matters! The Corporation urges citizens to report similar incidents with photographs or videos to help prevent improper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness across Bengaluru. 🌿 Clean Bengaluru, Healthy Bengaluru! #BengaluruNorthCityCorporation #BNCC #AnimalWasteManagement #CleanBengaluru #PublicCooperation #SolidWasteManagement #bengaluru

A privately led road widening and a community-funded paving of a very busy and congested stretch of road!
