Pleased to see the Prime Minister announce disabled bus pass holders in England will be able to travel for free at all hours from April next year. Disability doesn't run on a timetable - this is a welcome step in getting fairer access for the disabled community at all times.
Some rules are just unfair. This was one of them.

So lovely to visit @ctksfc this morning to celebrate Year 13s opening their results. I was inspired by their optimism and excitement for the future - there were lots of smiles and some well‑deserved ice‑cream!

(1/2) This International Youth Day, I'm celebrating the incredible young people in Lewisham North and across the country, and the work we’re doing to back them. I’m proud that earlier this year the Gov launched Youth Matters: our new National Youth Strategy. 🧡

(2/2) From safer spaces and better mental health support to expanding youth work and opening up creative, digital and sporting opportunities, this strategy focuses on practical improvements that directly strengthen the support young people rely on.

It’s a big day tomorrow for many Year 13s, with A-Level and other Level 3 Qualifications results day just around the corner. I know lots of young people will be feeling nervous, but support is available - and whatever happens, this is just one step in a much bigger journey. πŸ’œ

This Β£1.5m investment in the Violence Reduction Unit is just one of the fantastic ways our Mayor is keeping vulnerable kids safe during the school break. In the summer holidays, young people need the same level of support they rely on during term time.
Making London the best place for young people starts with giving every young Londoner the support and opportunities to thrive. This summer, my @LDN_VRU is joining forces with the Premier League to give young people a safe place to learn new skills.

That's 100 new community mental health centres offering walk‑in support without a referral, and 59 dedicated mental health emergency departments providing specialist care. After years of people relying on overstretched charities, crisis support is finally being put in place.
We’ve all had some experience of struggles with mental health. Maybe you’ve stood by a loved one in a time of need. Maybe you’ve been through tough moments yourself. Too often, illness is only half the challenge, with people forced to wait too long and fight too hard to get the help they need. Today, we’re announcing a major expansion of NHS mental health services so people can get help earlier and closer to home. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/a…

I know many families worry about covering vet costs when their pets need care. The Gov wants to change that, by introducing: 🐱 a £21 cap on written prescription fees 🐩 an improved 'Find a Vet' service 🐹 a requirement for practices to publish prices for common treatments

Racial inequality in the treatment of Black and Asian women during childbirth has been left unaddressed for years. Glad to see the Health Secretary announce she will tackle this systemic issue and end the postcode lottery for levels of maternity care. theguardian.com/society/2026…

77% of the public now describe their GP experience as good. πŸ₯ That's due to our changes - an extra 2000s GPs, Β£14bn investment, and expanded patient access to online consultations. Still got a way to go - especially on health inequality - but I'm really proud to see progress.

Education should be a passport - to work, to life, to further study. But too many young people are still being shut out. Everyone deserves an education that matches their high ambitions, not a one‑size‑fits‑all straitjacket. thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

A pleasure to meet with @LRMNetwork CEO Alan Robertson and Campaigns Manager Meetra Qutb to discuss how their services support people across Lewisham. I will continue to work with them so we can ensure the best for vulnerable constituents.
