Congratulations to Anand Singh, Ph.D., on receiving a $2.2 million R01 grant from the @NIH to investigate ways to reduce the cardiotoxic side effects associated with osimertinib, the only approved therapy for EGFR T790M-positive non-small cell lung cancer.
Up to 5% of patients on the drug experience serious cardiac events. Singh’s team will investigate the mechanisms that cause cardiotoxicity after osimertinib treatment, as well as possible therapeutic targets to prevent that damage.
