The National Launch of the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign is underway at Wakiso Health Center IV. The campaign will run from 1 - 5 October, 2026.
The campaign aims to vaccinate 7.5 million children aged 9 months to 5 years.
The launch is officiated by the Minister for Health, Dr. @CHRISBARYOMUNS1 flagged by Permanent Secretary, @DianaAtwine, partners and other delegates.

Measles outbreaks move fast. Knowing exactly where the virus is spreading can make the response faster too.
A new first-of-its-kind rapid diagnostic test, manufactured in Senegal, will allow cases to be confirmed more quickly, including in places where access to laboratories is limited.
For measles control, that means better surveillance and more targeted vaccination.
For African manufacturing, it marks an important milestone.
