🇵🇱 Historia złamania szyfru Enigmy jest jednym z kluczowych punktów w opowieści o II wojnie światowej. To historia przełomu dokonanego przez Rejewskiego, Różyckiego i Zygalskiego, którym siedem lat przed wybuchem wojny udało się zrozumieć mechanizm działania Enigmy i stworzyć podstawy do systematycznego odczytywania niemieckich meldunków. To też historia Bletchley Park, miejsca, gdzie Brytyjczycy rozwinięli geniusz polskich kryptologów w szeroką operację kryptologiczną. Naszą rozmowę z gen. broni Sir Thomasem Copinger-Symesem @tomcopsymes, byłym Zastępcą Dowódcy Cyber & Specialist Operations Command, zaczęliśmy właśnie od niezwykłej historii złamania szyfrów Enigmy, w której znaleźliśmy wiele analogii do współczesnych wyzwań i zagrożeń. Rozmowa, która miała się skupić na historii, szybko przerodziła się w opowieść o współczesności. Zachęcam do lektury. 📰: cyberdefence24.pl/armia-i-sl… 🇬🇧 The story of breaking the Enigma cipher is one of the key chapters in the history of the Second World War. It is a story of a breakthrough achieved by Rejewski, Różycki, and Zygalski, who, seven years before the outbreak of the war, managed to understand how Enigma worked and laid the foundations for the systematic decoding of German messages. It is also the story of Bletchley Park, the place where the British developed the genius of the Polish cryptologists into a broad cryptologic operation. At the heart of this story lies a decision of crucial importance: the decision to trust and to share knowledge with allies in the face of a common threat. Today, in an era of the growing importance of cyberspace, the experience of more than eighty years ago reminds us that advantage is created not only through technology, but also through relationships built on trust. We began our conversation with Lieutenant General Sir Thomas Copinger-Symes @tomcopsymes, former Deputy Commander of the Cyber & Specialist Operations Command, with this very remarkable story of breaking the Enigma ciphers, in which we found many parallels to today’s challenges and threats. A conversation that was meant to focus on history quickly turned into a story about the present day. I invite you to read on. 📰: defence24.com/other/polish-a…
