Our Monthly Community Dinner
Ending this crazy week with our incredible @thelabmiami community at our Monthly Dinner with some new faces and some familiar ones.
RT @wynwoodceo: Home grown company in Miami aiming to transform the internet with capital and support from @thelabmiami Let’s go @Barrett…
This quoted post is unavailable.
Welcome to the neighborhood, Carnegie Mellon University. 🌴
Since we relaunched The LAB Miami two years ago, it has become the collision point for forward thinking minds. A vibrant venture community where technical founders and engineers mingle effortlessly with capital investors and corporate partners.
We had deep conviction that Miami, and Wynwood specifically, had the ingredients to become a major technology hub, even while many continued to underestimate the tech ecosystem taking shape here.
Thanks to the vision and extraordinary generosity and commitment of Ken Griffin to our city, and the bold leadership of Carnegie Mellon, we will soon be welcoming to our backyard and community thousands of the brightest minds in the world to solve the most important challenges of our time.
🤖 Made with AI
Miami keeps producing bigger swings 🔥
doxx.net is out of stealth with a $38M Series A led by @a16z, building the new internet w/a private network for the agentic era.
Proud we backed @BarrettLyon early.
Built in Miami 🚀
Today we’re launching doxx.net, enabling Agentic Defined Networking for everyone. We raised $38M from @a16z, @AnimoVentures and Focal.vc.
Create private networks for you and your AI agents, without a server in the middle. 38M+ threats blocked since December.
Our first private-network call was a freedom call. Now it’s your turn.

Visited ShellHacks Hackathon at FIU yesterday. 1K+ participants over a weekend, some of the biggest logos in tech sponsoring.
Chatted with the Dean and he dropped crazy numbers: 9K+ CS students, ~2,100 grads every year.
1 problem: most don’t stay in Miami. They go work for those same companies in SF, Seattle, NYC etc.
The conversation is always “Miami needs more tech talent” & “we need more cs programs”
I think that’s totally missing the point.
We have the talent. We have an incredible education system producing it.
We’re just investing in other states talent pipelines 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Keeping them here is the real issue!
Still buzzing from yesterday’s Miami Founder Summit 🔥🔥🔥
Huge thanks to @ClementDelangue, @nejatian & @BarrettLyon for amazing sessions , @focal_vc for our incredible partnership and Miami’s best founders for showing up, sharing, and building together.
We are so back 🚀
Looking forward to unpacking Wed @thelabmiami w/ @nejatian how @Opendoor as a publicly traded company kicked into Founder Mode. I promise I won’t ask any questions about $OPEN's contribution margin & gross margins😅
Come to @thelabmiami Aug 26 to hear firsthand from @nejatian how he unlocked founder mode at @Opendoor

We are expanding @Opendoor's engineering team in Miami.
On Aug 26 we're hosting Fireside 305 at The Lab. I'll take unscripted questions, then Chintan, Eyal and I will discuss the technical problems we're currently solving for and why this shit is hard, valuable and fun.
Come find out how hard.
