After thoughtful consideration and discussion with many of that era WE posthumously welcome Manute Bol ‘84 as an Honorary Alum. Going forward he will be classified among our now 28 @NBA participants. RIP Big Fella.
BABC History: Manute Bol RIP chapter contd Bol never appeared in any games for our vaunted, national power 19u squad since we couldn’t document his age. He did appear in our NBA PRO AM Developmental League at Madison Park HS. Thus we never claimed Bol as an alum
BABC History: Manute Bol RIP chapter contd Bol practice battles with the late Eugene Miles ‘84 6-10 via Dorchester became folklore. Miles shattered TWO backboards off drop step dunks. When angered Bol reacted by Blocking EVERY Shot.
BABC History: OUR 1st 50! Bol arrived in BOS from Sudan June’83. We met him at airport. Shortly after he was drafted @nba, selection voided via age documentation. Joined BABC FAM immediately, long sessions behind closed doors at Don Bosco HS with our deepest group in our history.
