🌍 Mobilizing Collective Action for Suicide Prevention Across Africa We are proud to be participating in the 1st African Regional Summit on Suicide Prevention, bringing together mental health professionals, policymakers, civil society actors, and community leaders from across Africa to advance collective action for #suicideprevention. A key highlight from Day 1 of the summit was the panel discussion on "Mobilizing Philanthropy, Civil Society and Community Action for Suicide Prevention." which featured MHPSS Technical Lead Obalim Grace. The discussion explored the role of philanthropists, #NGOs, community activists, donors, and development partners in financing, advocating for, and delivering sustainable suicide prevention initiatives. As conversations continue throughout the summit, we are engaging with partners and stakeholders to strengthen collaboration, elevate community voices, and advance sustainable solutions for suicide prevention. 💚 Suicide prevention is everyone's responsibility. Together, we can create hope and save lives. #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealth #TPOUganda #MHPSS #MentalHealthAdvocacy #CommunityAction #ASPA #MentalHealthForAll #PartnershipsForImpact #SuicidePreventionSummit #RestoringHope #TransformingLives

🌱 A Conference. A Community. A Shared Commitment. What happens when policymakers, practitioners, researchers, community leaders, and development partners come together around one goal? A powerful conversation about the future of mental health, healing, social cohesion, and peacebuilding in the Great Lakes Region. Today's conference reaffirmed that communities are not just beneficiaries of change; they are drivers of it. Through evidence, experience, and dialogue, participants highlighted the critical role of locally led approaches in addressing mental health challenges, rebuilding trust, and creating pathways toward sustainable peace. As we leave Munyonyo, we do so with renewed partnerships, shared learning, and a collective commitment to advance community-led solutions that leave no one behind. Healing. Dignity. Justice. Reconciliation. Peace. These are not separate goals. They are interconnected foundations for a better future. #ConnectingForPeace #MHPSS #Peacebuilding #Localization #GreatLakesRegion #MentalHealthMatters #CommunityBasedSociotherapy #TPOUganda

💚 Today, we stand together for mental health---------#WMHD2026 🌍 At @TpoUg , we believe that mental health is a universal right that is essential to human dignity, resilience, and community wellbeing. Every day, our teams walk alongside individuals and families across Uganda, offering psychosocial support, strengthening mental health systems, and restoring hope where it’s needed most. On this World Mental Health Day, we reaffirm our commitment to building communities that care where asking for help is seen as strength, and stigma gives way to compassion. Together, we can create a Uganda where every person has access to the support they need to heal, thrive, and live with purpose. 🌍✨#WorldMentalHealthDay2026 #MentalHealthForAll #BreakTheStigma #RestoringHope #TransformingLives #TPOUganda

🧠 October is Mental Health Month and as always, @TpoUg continues to champion mental wellbeing as a cornerstone of emergency preparedness and community resilience. As part of this month’s activites, we trained 39 #frontline responders from eight nationalities in Kampala on basic Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) for Ebola preparedness and community resilience. Over two days, participants strengthened their ability to: ✅ Provide Psychological First Aid #PFA (Prepare, Look, Listen, Link) ✅ Respond to suicide risk safely and directly ✅ Offer culturally sensitive psychosocial support and referrals. This initiative, supported by UNHCR-OCHA , not only strengthens Ebola preparedness but also builds sustainable #MHPSS capacity for refugees and host communities across Kampala. @UNHCRuganda @OCHAFunds @UNOCHA @MinofHealthUG @Moglsd_UG #MentalHealthMonth #CommunityResilience #MHPSS #RefugeeSupport #EbolaPreparedness #RestoringHope #TransformingLives
