📷 “Resilience is a STATE, not a TRAIT.” - @StuartShanker So many of our kids are hurting, facing challenges we can’t ignore. it’s heartbreaking and a call for us to find a new way to support them with compassion and care.
How do you restore and lend your calm? Let’s share and support each other. 🌱

Oh, I just love this quote from @StuartShanker - it captures the heart of #SelfReg, how our perspective can transform everything. When we take a moment to pause and truly 𝘴𝘦𝘦 a child differently, it’s as though the layers of frustration or misunderstanding begin to lift.
#Reframing isn’t about trying harder; it’s about shifting the lens we’re looking through. And that calming effect Stuart mentions? It’s real—it begins with us and creates a sense of balance that can spread to those around us.

“No child wakes up thinking, ‘I’d like to trash my classroom today.’” Valerie Gray reminds us that behind every behaviour is a story. By #reframing our approach & seeing the #child behind the behaviour, we can help them feel valued & connected.
Thank you to Valerie for this wonderful blog! Your passion for #selfreg shines through and inspires us all to dig deeper and create those meaningful connections in our classrooms.

Thrilled to share another inspiring post by the @avivaloca. Exploring how building #relationships is the very foundation for learning—especially for new Kindergarten students. “What if I plan to enter their play instead of remove them to join mine?”
This gentle shift reminds us to meet #children where they are, nurturing safety and trust. Aviva shows how #coregulation and #connection help kids explore, take small risks, and grow. Thanks, Aviva! Read more: self-reg.ca/building-relatio…
“Being stuck keeps teaching me so much about myself.”
A big thank you to Julie Smith for sharing such an honest and heartfelt #SelfReg reflection in her blog, Getting Unstuck from the Muck.
Julie captures that all-too-familiar feeling of getting “stuck” in the Low Energy / High Tension space — where even small stressors feel overwhelming.
She encourages us to practice gentle self-compassion, to lean into small, meaningful shifts, & to stay connected with what lifts us up.
