Big news! 🎾 We're teaming up with Playtomic, the world's largest community of racket sports clubs and players, to make global venue onboarding faster and easier.
With Sumsub's automated KYB solution, Playtomic can now verify partner clubs in minutes instead of days, helping venues get up and running faster while meeting local compliance requirements.
The best part? Verification happens directly within Playtomic's existing HubSpot CRM workflows, with no disruption to operations.
More clubs onboarded. Less friction. More time for the game. 🚀

Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has reported an estimated $6.3 billion in stolen assets following a major security breach on October 29 🥷
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has reported an estimated $6.3 billion in stolen assets following a major security breach on October 29.
The incident is potentially the largest crypto theft on record. The exchange said it would cover all user losses, while investigators trace the stolen funds and work to freeze them.
Binance’s preliminary investigation points to a compromised laptop belonging to a DevOps engineer. The attacker may have used access to an internal service to submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. The exchange said it had found no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked, although the investigation is ongoing.
Binance has worked with blockchain partners to freeze approximately $3 billion in affected assets. It temporarily suspended withdrawals while conducting security checks and said deposits were operating normally. The exchange expects withdrawals to resume once the security work is complete and has pledged to cover all losses through its Secure Asset Fund for Users (SAFU) and company funds.
Blockchain investigators have linked the attack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor hacking group, which is associated with the Lazarus Group.
TRM Labs said it had high confidence in the attribution, citing on-chain and off-chain intelligence. It has also been assessed that the North Korean group likely carried out the theft, while investigator ZachXBT pointed to connections between funds from the Binance incident and an earlier Bitget exploit.
Binance has not confirmed the attribution, but it is cooperating with law enforcement to identify those responsible. TraderTraitor has previously been linked by US authorities to major crypto thefts, including the February 2025 attack on Bybit.
AI agents are already crossing permission boundaries and exposing sensitive information. As businesses give them more responsibility, keeping their access and actions under control becomes critical.
Vector Wire explores how @Microsoft and @sumsub are tackling AI agent governance from different angles.
For businesses deploying AI agents, governance means being able to answer practical questions: what can an agent access, which actions can it take, and when should a verified human step in?

Introducing FortressID™, with @Sumsub.
Proving who you are in crypto means starting over every time. Each exchange, app and counterparty runs its own check and keeps its own copy.
Meanwhile, person to person, there is no check at all: a payment from a stranger's address says nothing about who sent it, and scams took an estimated $17B in 2025 with impersonation up 1,400% year on year.
FortressID™ moves identity from the company's database to the person's name.
Every paid FortressName™ will include one Sumsub identity verification at no extra cost. FortressID™ answers one question for the person paying you: has this person passed an identity check? Are they human or a robot? The answer stays with you until you decide to share.

Imagine falling in love with someone who doesn't exist. 💔 You share your secrets, you make plans for the future, you trust them completely.
Meanwhile, someone on the other side of the screen is following a script designed to make you fall in love, and eventually hand over your money.
That's the reality of romance fraud.
And now, thanks to AI, deepfakes, and face-swapping technology, even a video call isn't necessarily proof that someone is real.
In our latest episode of What The Fraud? podcast, Vicky Baker, Anna Rowe, and Simon Newman unpack the psychology, technology, and organized crime behind romance scams.

Your AI agent can pay an invoice. Who decides how much it can spend, who it can pay, and when a human needs to step in?
On stage at #Money2020USA in Las Vegas, our Co-founder & Chief Strategy Officer Peter Sever outlined three foundations for AI agent trust: identity, authorization and traceability.
Businesses need to know which agent is acting, what it’s allowed to do, and who’s accountable for its actions.
We also introduced Sumsub’s Know Your Agent (KYA) Module for MCP. It checks agent requests against the rules a business sets. Routine actions go through; sensitive ones wait for human approval.

Last night in Las Vegas, Sumsub won #TheMoneyAwards at @money2020 in the AML, Identity amp; KYC in Payments category!
We’re very proud of this one. It’s a win for our whole team and for the customers who grow with us.
The US is an incredibly competitive market, home to some of the world's most established and respected players in our industry. Being recognized alongside them, and coming out on top, makes this win especially meaningful.
A huge thank you to our team, our customers, and the judges for this recognition.
Some conversations are just better had in person. Especially when they’re about something as complex as romance fraud 💞.
The Online Dating and Discovery Association Annual Conference in London brought together people from across the online dating industry to share experiences, challenge perspectives, and figure out how we can make dating safer for everyone.
Our Head of Government Relations Kat Cloud moderated a panel with the City of London Police, LoveSaid, and FreeDating, while Carmen Maria Miller hosted a hands-on workshop where attendees explored real fraud red flags and worked on practical ways to tackle them.
A big thank you to ODDA and everyone who brought their insights, questions, and ideas to the table.
Understanding how criminals build trust helps explain what keeps their networks together, and what makes them so difficult to leave.
Episode 4 of our #TrustForward podcast explores the rules and incentives that help organised crime survive.
Host and anthropologist Mary-Ann Ochota is joined by:
• Rebecca Simon, pirate historian and author, on crews that agreed on pay, injury compensation and even voting out their captain.
• Federico Varese, criminologist and Oxford professor, on how the Mafia enforces deals when courts aren’t an option—and makes betrayal costly.
• Professor Sophie Scott, cognitive neuroscientist at UCL, on why painful tests of belonging can bind people to dangerous groups.
You’ll come away with three questions to ask about any system of trust: Who enforces the rules? Who benefits? And can people walk away?
