Woke up two months later and the world was dotted in red . @spairally 's community is growing . App available on play store : play.google.com/store/apps/d… #SaferCommunities

A year ago , Spairally was just an ambitious idea . Now we are defining a new niche in Silicon Valley : Consumer Defense Tech . I would like to appreciate our users , who have tested and proven the viability of our v1 . Happy to announce that @SamProgramiz will be joining us to help build our v2 and scale it globally to everyone in need . Sam brings with him considerable years of experience in building impactful consumer products and scaling them to 100k+ users and beyond. At @spairally , our mission remains the same . To make safety affordable , and accessible to billions of people worldwide . #aSaferFuture

Rebellion . "All animals can be cowed into submission by inflicting pain" . Spairally was conceived to rebel against this statement ( 15 yrs old , onset of adolescence and rebellion being the warp and woof of my teenage experience) . Needless to say , that it was born out of standing up for a population (Kenyans) I felt was helpless in the face of rampant terrorism at the time . "Technology caused it , technology will fix it" - I had declared , at just 15 yrs old . We have been a company for the passed 8 months . Yet the 10-yr dream has been the same - build a consumer defence tech product , have it accessible and affordable to billions of people in the world , and make it easy to use - in a device that everyone already uses , carries with them everywhere they go , and loves . We have thus achieved the following with our version 1 : 1. Almost 1000 users across 20+ countries with US and Kenya as the leading demographics . 2. Built our own lightweight acoustic AI vision models for real-time threat detection on mobile phones 3. Turned the phone into a safety companion : without requiring cameras or specialised hardware 4. Charted #1 on app store a number of times on paid lifestyle category 5. Built threat mapping , danger-radius visualisation and escape route guidance towards safer zones 6. Built an early prototype for our next-generation wearable safety device 7. Started generating revenue from the product 8. Began exploring how the same intelligence could extend beyond the phone 9. Our novelty was covered in a news piece : connectingafrica.com/ai/a-no… I must admit that we have achieved more -we have answered the question : Can we make a phone more useful for public safety and for a global population ? It is also of significant importance to note that we have learnt . We have learnt what people responded to, where the product fell short, what needed to be simpler, and what it would take to turn an ambitious idea into something people can actually use , pay for and trust. Version 1 was about proving the need . Now we are entering the next chapter . Spairally version 2 is about building a commercially viable product with the potential for global impact.

.@spairally community just got bigger this month . #saferCommunities 🫶

We've started charting on United States app store on the paid category of lifestyle . #47 on the US app store chart today 🇺🇸🥹

It can only get better from here . We are building a safety wearable badge for the kids , that they can wear to school and their parents can get real-time notifications in case of critical security incident at school . Secondly , we are using our own in-house model . It is so tiny and 1000x smaller than the vision model that inspired its initial architecture . Thirdly , the whole pipeline from input to inferencing is < 1 sec . Which is almost real time . We are at prototype stage . A lot of pre-processing work is still being done . But we are making so much progress .
