I've been maintaining Taquito in my spare time since our TF grant ended earlier this year. Back then we were assured at length that their octez.js fork was only a contingency they wouldn't pursue if we kept maintaining Taquito. Over the summer they cut us off from Slack-Connect and dropped me from the proto-ecosystem calls I helped start years ago. Last week I noticed trilitech/octez.js actually has a full-time effort behind it: - The Tezos X Previewnet bugs filed on Taquito (#3437, #3438, #3439) that I fixed in my spare time for v25.1.0 were found testing octez.js and cross-filed to their fork 6 minutes later (#61, #62, #63) with imports swapped to @taquito/* for our tracker. - They run an automated "Taquito Sync Tracker" (#53) and a check:rebrand linter to scrub taquito/ecadlabs strings and harvest my commits, including the tz5 post-quantum work above (PR #137). I'm not looking for TF funding, and I'll happily wrap up my Taquito maintenance once octez.js is officially announced. Still, saying one thing while doing the opposite is a sad demonstration of bad culture and shows how low-trust this environment has become.
