This is the kind of backlash we are facing when trying to open up these conversations w/ reporters working with mainstream media. Jen blocked us after claiming this email was aggressive. 2/2 @mattfrehner

Grateful for independent media like @blackupoffme exposing male violence at Fairy Creek. As documented, this Black Woman has been targeted by RCMP more than once.
IBM Log 1: RCMP torturing a Black Woman This is the kind of behaviour the colonial court system deems acceptable, so as not to prevent Teal Jones from making profit. #fairycreek #fairycreekblockade #policebrutality #independentblackmedia instagram.com/tv/CU0-mKiJjuB…

Studies show it was never about sex, but about power. The more powerful, assertive, dominant, independent you are, the higher chance men will sexually harass you. "It is motivated primarily by a desire to punish deviants.. at women who violate feminine ideals." - @JBerdahl
Sexual harassment isn't driven by a desire for women. It's motivated by a desire for power over women. Data: assertive women face more sexual harassment—especially in male-dominated workplaces. The problem is not self-control. It's a culture that normalizes control over women.

Police presence at #FairyCreek took on a more serious tone this week. The men in green (ERT) are appearing at all hours of day to make sneak arrests, or at least to destroy blockade infrastructure. #Canada #VancouverIsland #Police #RCMP #ERT
