As the United States celebrates its 250th anniversary, we continue to reaffirm our founding principles of liberty, innovation, and peace through strength that continue to shape American leadership on the global stage.
At the Freedom 250 reception in Mumbai, I underscored that these ideals continue to guide us as we deepen U.S.-India ties and advance our shared prosperity through partnership and innovation.
Together, we can secure the prosperity of future generations of Americans and Indians.
It was a pleasure meeting with our @USAndMumbai team to recognize their dedication to strengthening U.S.-India ties, supporting American citizens, and advancing shared economic and strategic priorities.
It was great to meet with Indian External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar and UAE Foreign Minister @ABZayed to discuss regional energy security and advance our shared economic priorities.
At the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, I laid a wreath honoring the victims of the horrific November 26, 2008 terrorist attacks, including six American citizens.
We remember those lost, honor the courage of those who responded, and reaffirm the enduring U.S.-India partnership and our shared commitment to combating terrorism.
In Mumbai, Indian External Affairs Minister @DrSJaishankar and I discussed energy security and defense cooperation while reaffirming the importance of advancing the U.S.-India strategic partnership.
On this incredible visit to Uzbekistan, we made great economic strides for the American people through the C5+1.
The benefits of U.S. cooperation with our regional partners are clear in a place like Samarkand, where the potential of tourism and cultural heritage preservation is yielding extraordinary gains.

The U.S.–Uzbekistan Business & Investment Council hosted more than 200 U.S. business leaders for a special dinner last night where we highlighted how we’re unlocking unprecedented opportunities for American and Central Asian enterprise!
During the course of Secretary Rubio’s historic visit, the United States and Uzbekistan signed 54 agreements totaling around $12 billion in investment. The bilateral commitment to strengthening commercial ties is a huge win for both America and Uzbekistan.
@president_uz Mirziyoyev, @SecRubio, and @SMirziyoyeva.
I met with Uzbekistan President Mirziyoyev to express my sincere thanks to the government of Uzbekistan for hosting the C5+1 in beautiful and historic Samarkand.
We discussed working together to promote economic opportunities and creating jobs in both our countries, and strengthening security cooperation, as well as working together through the C5+1 diplomatic platform.
I was also deeply honored to be awarded the Order of Outstanding Merit by President Mirziyoyev.
Jeanette and I stood at the heart of Samarkand’s Registan Square, where the richness of Uzbekistan’s history, culture, and architecture is undeniable.
At this historic crossroads where diplomacy, trade, and culture of the ancient Silk Road took place, it is fitting that the U.S. and Central Asia continue securing economic opportunities and strengthening diplomatic ties to transform the future.
Secretary Marco Rubio retweeted
Today in Samarkand @SecRubio joined Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan to reinforce U.S. commitment to regional sovereignty, energy security, and supply chain resilience. @FM_Saidov @MBTileuberdi @MFA_Kyrgyzstan @MOFA_Tajikistan
Few places on Earth have historically played such an important role in global trade and commerce as Samarkand.
It’s an honor to be here today — not just to remember the history, but the opportunities for the future.
Great meeting with each of the C5 foreign ministers.
Together, we are creating commercial opportunities, strengthening economies, and increasing regional security.

Great to meet with each of the C5 foreign ministers.

In every priority sector—from critical minerals and energy to transportation and technology—our cooperation means more jobs, more prosperity, and greater security for all our nations.
Met with Kazakh Foreign Minister @MBTileuberdi and reaffirmed our commitment to expand bilateral economic and security cooperation.

In Uzbekistan to take part in the C5+1 Ministerial and lead a historic delegation of over 200 business leaders.
This diplomatic platform promotes regional connectivity, transformative commercial diplomacy initiatives, and a more peaceful and prosperous future for the United States and our Central Asian partners.
Just departed for Uzbekistan and India to continue securing the Trump Administration's economic opportunities for our nation.
Productive meeting with Managua Chargé d'Affaires Elias Baumann to determine next steps on the Murillo-Ortega dictatorship's rejection of U.S. Ambassador-designate Natasha Franceschi.
We agreed that hostile political theater aimed at undermining U.S. representation is adversarial and another example of the dictators prioritizing themselves over the real needs of the Nicaraguan people.
For too long, Communist Cuba has been allowed to operate as an outpost for malign actors and terror groups – including the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism – to target the United States.
Today, I designated BICSA, a Cuban financial institution which has been providing financial services to sanctioned Iranian entities.
Let me be absolutely clear: the Trump Administration will not tolerate a rogue state hosting hostile foreign military, intelligence and terror operations less than a hundred miles from our homeland. state.gov/releases/office-of…
