This is the moment @OxideComputer was built for. Seven years ago, Eclipse backed a vision from @sdtuck and @bcantrill most thought was suicide. Today, AI is driving unprecedented compute demand, and enterprises are rethinking what they own vs. rent. They nailed it. Oxide's growth has been unlike anything I have ever seen. Watching this team achieve the seemingly impossible, time and again, across engineering, supply chain, sales, finance, and beyond while scaling at an unprecedented pace has been one of the great privileges of my career. @EclipseVentures is proud to lead Oxide's $445M Series D

On-prem is back. Eclipse CEO Lior Susan says a lot of industries never stopped needing it for security, latency & cost, & AI is making their bet on @oxidecomputer look even better: “Our view starting the company was: not everything is going to move to the cloud.” “There’s a lot of industries that still want to do on-prem for security, latency, & cost.”
BREAKING: Rare Interview w/ @EclipseVentures Co-Founder & CEO Lior Susan Eclipse turned $147M into a $2.5B Cerebras stake. $12.5B AUM. 90 companies. 30 built in-house. $40B–$50B in portfolio commercial deals last year. Lior goes deep on the $100T physical-world opportunity, Eclipse’s Venture Equity model & why free cash flow beats gross margin. Fund Stats: › $1.3B raised in April across Fund VI + Early Growth III › 17x on Cerebras at the $185 IPO price › Portfolio companies raised $15.9B in 2026 alone › 30 of 90 companies built in-house through Venture Equity › $40B–$50B in commercial deals signed across the portfolio last year "We never thought of ourselves as venture capital. We call it operators with capital because we are operators with capital." Founded in 2015 by Lior Susan alongside Silicon Valley legend Pierre Lamond, who worked with Gordon Moore at Fairchild Semiconductor, helped build National Semiconductor & spent nearly 3 decades at Sequoia. Eclipse bet early on the physical world across semiconductors, manufacturing, robotics, defense, energy & infrastructure. Portfolio: @andrewdfeldman x @cerebras, Parallax, Prime Minute, Anduril, Wayve, Redwood Materials, VulcanForms, Bedrock Robotics, True Anomaly, Ursa Major, Oxide, Bright Machines, Verkada, Mytra, Peak Energy, The Nuclear Company, Reliable Robotics, Skyryse, Mind Robotics & ALSO. The best time to own your cloud was before the CPU supply crunch. The second best time is now.
One really "silent" trend that very, very few people talk about (because it only impacts Head of Infra type folks): a CPU shortage that's becoming more apparent for mid-sized and above companies. It's not dramatic, just harder to reserve the CPUs you want with cloud providers apparently as well

When you’re building distributed systems from the ground up, every layer is a place where you can make the network faster. Steve Karam just pushed his first (of many) Oxide blogs on tuning network performance across an Oxide system. buff.ly/cbuLRhW

Eleven years ago we started @EclipseVentures and bet everything on atoms. Rockets, robots, chips, factories, power systems, defense. The things civilization actually runs on. Today, we're announcing $1.3B in new capital to keep building. The physical world is overdue for transformation. Transportation runs on systems designed decades ago. The energy grid cannot keep up with demand. Healthcare depends on manual procedures that don't scale. Defense development moves at a fraction of the speed threats evolve. These are not software problems. They are full stack engineering and operations problems, and they have been underinvested in for a generation. But there has never been a better moment to solve them. The best engineers are leaving big tech to build in the physical world. AI is compressing timelines from years to quarters. Policy is aligned. And customers are not waiting — the DoD, the hyperscalers, hospitals, and the Fortune 500 are all desperate for technology that makes physical systems smarter, faster, and more resilient. Talent, capital, technology, policy, and demand are all converging at once. This is our moment 🇺🇸 We built Eclipse for this exact moment and in doing so, we launched a movement. Today that movement is 100 companies strong (and growing!). These companies supply each other, share customers, and help solve each other's hardest problems. Propulsion systems powering orbital defense. Modern supply chain infrastructure moving the worlds goods. Autonomous vehicles on three continents. Surgical robots performing procedures that used to require the world's best hands. Cloud hardware powering the AI revolution built on American soil. That's not a fund. That's an economy — an Eclipse Economy. The door is open to rebuild the physical infrastructure of the country. We intend to run through it.

We raised a $200M Series C, now we're putting it to work. New compute sleds with the latest @AMDServer EPYC CPUs are coming and we're working with @XsightLabs on next-gen switch silicon with a fully open ISA. @TheRegister has the details: buff.ly/vmW0P6A
