Very proud to share a recent publication from Saint Louis University Internal medicine department and GI division 📝
🔎 Which commonly prescribed drugs are associated with microscopic colitis? Evidence—particularly for ACEIs, ARBs & statins—has been conflicting. In our large propensity-matched US study of adults ≥50, we found: 📈 Higher incidence: SSRIs • PPIs • NSAIDs ↔️ No association: ACEIs • ARBs • Statins ⚠️ Absolute incidence remained <0.1% 📄 Read open-access: doi.org/10.1111/apt.70985 @slusom @SLUgastro @MahMadi90 @KiwanGIDoc @YoussefBHafez #MicroscopicColitis #GITwitter

📚🏥 Learning. Discovery. Collaboration. Leadership. It all begins here. Welcome to our 2026–2027 Internal Medicine fellows! 🩺 💫 Excited to welcome our new #InternalMedicine #Fellows to @SSMHealthSTL as we kick off the 2026–2027 academic year! 🔵 Today’s Departmental #Fellowship #Orientation was a wonderful opportunity for our incoming fellows to learn about our department’s culture, educational mission, clinical teaching, research opportunities, patient care initiatives, and the many people and resources dedicated to their success. 📊 I enjoyed discussing the role of #research during fellowship and the many opportunities to ask important clinical questions, work with mentors and fellow learners, and advance patient care through discovery. 🌟 Welcome to our newest fellows! We look forward to supporting you throughout your training and are excited to see all that you will accomplish in the years ahead. Here’s to a fantastic year of learning, growth, and innovation! @KanaHelloKidney | @RaviNayakMD | @linamariatf | @MayaMhmoud | @SSMHealth | @SLU_GME | @slusom🤝🏽 #GraduateMedicalEducation #InternalMedicine #Fellowship #MedEd #ClinicalResearch #AcademicMedicine #Mentoring #Colleagues 🤲🏽
