Disqualifying DZ Academy for recording their own POV in Discord with comms, which is standard practice, simply shows an extreme lack of judgement. I have concerns about the consistency of admin decisions and their impact on stages and qualifications. A few examples from this stage from our side alone. Vs 5 Fears: We requested a replay due to a drone bug but were told to play on. After the round, I tried to explain the issue and offer our internal VOD, but couldn't get the admins to review it. "On the stream it looks like he just isn't moving it." Vs WC: WC requested a replay over a gadget issue which, in reality, was user error. They were allowed to present their internal VOD, and the replay was granted. The situations weren't identical, but the difference in how evidence was handled raises questions. Vs 4fun: A round was replayed after three of our players lost power more than a minute into the round, while we were already 4v5. The replay decision had a direct impact on the round's outcome, as we had no realistic chance of winning when Shaun would have died half a second after the power loss. We also almost had to use an emergency sub because of a bug following a patch on match day that forced a computer restart, rather than rescheduling. Admins were already aware of the bug. I don't know how many times this stage we also saw 4v5 games continue to be played. Only saving was that Shaun was in the team house and had a spare computer. These aren't small decisions. Replay rulings, technical issues and forced substitutions affect results, standings and qualifications. Players dedicate years to competing, and orgs invest significant resources. Admins have a difficult job, but transparency and accountability are essential when their decisions carry this much weight. Competitive integrity is something DZ Academy are being disqualified for breaching. Difficult to respect or understand these decisions when the standards being enforced don't appear to be applied consistently.
Competitive ruling Following an investigation into a match played on October 25th, NA Open Cup league officials determined that Dark Zero Academy breached the rules applicable in regard with eligible participants to the NA Open Cup in Salt Lake City in a manner adversely impacting the integrity of the competition. As a consequence, Dark Zero Academy will be disqualified from the NA Open Cup Finals.

Do you remember that during the 2019 OWL, 55% (110 out of 198) of the players were Korean? And after the league ended, the OWCS introduced the 3/5 rule. Before I continue, Iโ€™d like to offer my sincere congratulations to the DK players, and I believe that, in order to protect these players, DK should be exempt from the rule unless they make a roster change. At the time, as a Korean myself, I felt a sense of pride watching Korean players dominate the league, but at the same time, I felt sorry for local fans who felt alienated by teams that only superficially represented their own countries. While this may not have been the only reason, we need to consider why Blizzard went through all that and made this decision. Before suggesting that everyone should just sign Brazilian players like the OWL did back then, please take a moment to reflect with your hand on your heart. Do you really think itโ€™s more likely that all teams would respond by recruiting Brazilian players than that they would leave APAC North? And before making any decisions regarding esports, I hope youโ€™ll consider the butterfly effect. With no nationality restrictions per team, suddenly reducing the number of APAC NORTH slots to just one for the the Chinese league seems excessive. I hope at least one slot will be restored.

Import rosters are destroying regional identity. As an APL fan, I want to see APAC players in international tournaments, even if they donโ€™t play well. Dplus played very well, but we shouldnโ€™t lose a spot because of it.

Last yearโ€™s APL format was a fair 4-slot LAN event, with teams competing against different opponents, just like in any other region. Now, what happened this year is that the format was changed into subregions to save money. This creates mainly 2 problems and discrepancies: The wildcard spot (aka the second spot that is assigned to one subregion based on the best-performing international team) doesnโ€™t reflect regional success, and it is in no way similar to anything else in the ecosystem across all other regions. The system is made for the runner-ups to win the next stage. Let me run you through the logistics of it: Kickoff: the better team wins. (Before Stage 1, other teams realize theyโ€™d better just practice solely to beat a single team, the Kickoff-winning team. They practice day and night on one model, one playstyle, bans, picks, strats, everything, something unheard of in other regions.) Stage 1: the better team wins again, while the other teams keep refining. Stage 2: the better countering team wins. (Meanwhile, the previous winner, who is now trying to focus their prep work towards the Major, aka studying different playstyles, prepping different things, loses.) And itโ€™s an infinite loop. Whoever is truly the best team will never win all 3 stages unless they give up some day-to-day Major-related activities to focus on a regional-only playstyle. Nothing can save you. You win? Prep for the Major, and eventually youโ€™ll lose to teams that play to counter you. Those teams (who arenโ€™t better than you) will go to the Major and underperform, because their whole identity is made to counter you, so theyโ€™ll switch to focusing on a normal, broader practice, which will once again allow the better team to win, and the cycle continues. Nobody outside of this region can understand how hard it is to play against a team that has been practicing day in, day out just to counter you. Let me put it in perspective for you: imagine a team that practices 90 to 120 days solely to beat you. They practice all your maps, watch all your VODs, and base their whole identity on countering you specifically: bans, picks, movement, tempo, strats, all of it. Just imagine that. Itโ€™s not prep work for a game, no, itโ€™s happening every day in their day-to-day. Can you blame them for it? Absolutely not. Everyone would rather go to an event than not, even if that implies being totally unready for whatever isnโ€™t CAG, WEIBO and EP. Can you blame the format? Totally. Now letโ€™s talk about the finals format. The league starts before NAL, EML and SAL, and ends afterwards. So the teams that are trying to be competitive at the Major have even less time to prep compared to all the other regions. On top of that, we get a 2-week period between semi finals. And on top of that, we basically canโ€™t hide anything, because anything can go wrong in a Bo3, and since thereโ€™s only one spot, youโ€™re basically forced to go all out (or at least show more than what teams in other regions do) because you canโ€™t afford to lose. The system is faulty: it doesnโ€™t guarantee qualification for the actual better quality team. And on top of that, even if the best team does qualify, that very team is at a disadvantage against other regions: less prep time, more stuff being shown before the event, and having to keep the focus on APL while other teams are already prepping for the Major.

tbh Dplus truly deserved this champion, but I canโ€™t accept that they took it away from APL๐Ÿ’€
It's heartbreak across APAC as the home town heroes fall short of qualifying for the Osaka Major. CAG by @_VARREL come so close to completing the full comeback, bring us from 0-5 all the way to 7-7, showing their mental strength It's a hard blow for the team and region. Chin up CAGgers.

Thank you so much to Rolo for organizing this eventโ€”it was so much fun! Sadly I just missed out on first place, but Iโ€™ll be back next time!
Words cannot describe how happy I am right now. The event was an incredible success. We just hosted a tournament across the whole world where: Ping didn't matter and skill didn't matter. I cannot stress how significant this is. A fully inclusive tournament, the first of its kind. My passion project was highly ambitious from a technical side and we did it. We made it work. Thank you so much to everyone wbo took part in this, to my wonderful host @nonomiyamika. My amazing casters, mods and community. Especially to @Rainbow6_UK for sponsoring the whole tournament. Your wimners - 1st @aIiciaxi 2nd @RuoLing_ We love Siege. ๐Ÿงก

Thereโ€™s no easy way to put it: we have made the difficult decision to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile. The game will remain available until January 15, 2027. The next season will be released as planned next week.

R6M has a ton of great content every month, and many of those exclusive maps, events, and skins are way better than Siege. I think it's time to move the Summit to Siege. youtu.be/NJ1stQWAZOY
