We designed the workshop to challenge the assumption that climate impacts--from migration to military dynamics--offer an obvious entry point for South Asian cooperation. Very encouraged by the discourse it generated, and by the participation of officialdom from across the region.
IPCS was pleased to host a track 1.5 regional workshop on 'Climate Change and Geopolitics in South Asia'. The workshop was held from 4-6 May 2026 in Kochi, Kerala, in partial collaboration with the Indian Navy’s Southern Naval Command.

Great pleasure to be back @ChathamHouse for a realistic, forward-looking roundtable on arms control--perhaps even more critical now given how far the non-proliferation conversation has regressed. And useful to be reminded, as always, that there is only one Chatham House ‘Rule’.
