A life well lived. Thank you for giving me my work ethic and showing me the joy of skiing. Miss you Albert. gb774.app.goo.gl/aFyW6
The sky and the day seem just like is was 25 years ago. Beautiful and touching @Marist 9/11 remembrance with the Celtic cross that was cut from a South tower girder.

$ARM code running on $IBM Z mainframes and LinuxOne servers. This breaks two memes:
1/ "hard to find and develop apps and middleware for the mainframe."
2/ "Arm will never get into the on-prem enterprise."
Can't wait to see what's next.
IBM is teaming up with @Arm to develop new dual-architecture hardware for future AI and data-intensive workloads. Here's what this means for enterprise computing:
🔹 Expanded virtualization for Arm-based software
🔹 High-availability and security
🔹 Long-term ecosystem growth
🔹 Workload portability

We’re partnering with @IBM to help shape the next era of enterprise AI computing.
Together, we’re developing dual-architecture hardware—bringing Arm’s performance and efficiency into mission-critical environments.

IBM Z is the current version of the System/360 mainframe introduced in 1964. It now has AI embedded and is growing its installed base at a rapid clip (bottom left gray bars).
Important to understand this when thinking about enterprise software today: it's sticky and adaptable.

Open letter to @AnthropicAI
The HyperFRAME Research team is writing what we hope will become the definitive look at AI and the mainframe.
After the recent 'COBOL moment', as I am calling it, I have seen some awful takes from armchair pundits who are jumping on a trend to engagement farm on this platform.
As the premier Research and Advisory firm covering the mainframe (and lots of other tech), we have decided to write a non-commissioned, neutral analysis of the state of AI and the mainframe.
So Anthropic, if you want to get involved, DM me, we are unbiased and want to genuinely learn what value you can add.
Also, if anyone knows anyone at Anthropic who can help our team get a briefing, that would be great.

We built a new molecule and confirmed it with a quantum computer.
And people are like, ‘yeah, but what about SaaSpocalypse?’
Advancing molecular discovery with quantum computing. 🧬
