I live in perpetual wonder that I'm lucky enough to edit a travel magazine as my job. Thrilled to win travel editor of the year again It's thanks to our team & freelancers, who work hard to publish the best travel writing and bias-free journalism that goes beyond the headlines
Well done for the second year in a row to Rory Boland, Which? Travel, for winning Editor of the Year – Travel

The irony of Europe's 'greenest' airline encouraging people to take unlimited flights reflects how most airlines really don't care about climate change They will put profit first, always

We had a look at UK summer train 'deals', many aimed at families. Some great bargains out there, especially on LNER But the 'Long Weekender' deal from Great Western is rubbish. It's cheaper to book advance tickets (even a few days before travel) or the usual super off peak

Got car hire already booked this summer? Prices have dropped dramatically (44% on average) You'll almost certainly save, possibly hundreds of pounds if you cancel your existing summer booking and rebook at the new price

Going to be a tough day for passengers as the summer break gets underway Best way to avoid the chaos is to not check in bags. That's where the worst queues are, and bags always get lost in IT outages. If you do check bags in make sure keys, medicine etc are in your hand luggage

Very sad to see my alma mater, Bangor, in last place. Far too many visitors have not walked down Garth Pier, one of the best in the UK, and had the Bara Brith at Whistlestop cafe.

I know it's been a difficult, and at times even embarrassing few years to be British; so I am here to reassure you that German airports, much like their trains, are even more of an omnishambles of heilloses Durcheinander than ours They can't even get the signs right

This is good from Lufthansa. My first flight is delayed, and I'll miss my connection. But Lufthansa has already noted the delay in the app and will rebook me (so it says!) Also, what does one do with 10 spare hours at Frankfurt airport?

UK tourists won't be turned away from Spain for not having enough cash That's according to the Spanish Ministry of Interior. Last time the story made headlines, it said 'This is a hoax spread by the English media, lacking rigour and without any basis.' independent.co.uk/travel/new…

The rule on evidence of sufficient funds to cover your stay exists, but isn't applied to UK tourists according to Spain. In April. it said no UK tourist had been turned away for not having enough cash It would be helpful if the Spanish authorities publish this advice officially

Birmingham had also introduced the scanners, but had retained the 100ml rule so presumably the DfT had planned to do this for a week or more. The DfT says 'This temporary move is to enable further improvements to be made to the new checkpoint systems'

More confusion over airport security. The Department for Transport is reintroducing the 100ml rule on liquids at airports where it had already been suspended thanks to new CT scanners. Leeds Bradford, London City, Aberdeen, Southend, and Teesside airport
