I finished volume 4 and while the second half of Summer was a lot more interesting, I still think Spring was a lot stronger in terms of the pacing. I do like Raicho and the other new characters way more now than I did at the start though!

I finished Agents of the Four Seasons volume 3: Dance of Summer Part 1. It feels like a lot happened but also didn’t. Spring Part 1 I think drew me in more immediately than this one did, and that’s not to say it wasn’t interesting but it just has so much to do that it’s slow.

In order to shelve volumes, I’ve been doing a big catchup of Bungo. This included reading: - Main series - Storm Bringer - Untold Origins of the Detective Agency - Anthologies I didn’t intend to, but I ended up reading the latest vol of the main series last. Very fitting

K-9: Public Security Bureau, Division 9 volume 8 had some fantastic battles and two-page spreads. This series is so good.

There has to be a part 2 for the How Do We Relationship drama right? It’s a terrible stopping point otherwise…

Reading log for October is live! Despite work being busy and finishing a game, I still read quite a lot. Happy my light novel numbers are still trending high, would have fit a couple more in but Agent of the Four Seasons volumes are bricks lol curiositi.es/2026/11/01/read…

Village in the Shade uses the concept of sound to terrify you really well. Seeing the yokai for yourself isn’t half as scary as those nighttime visitors banging on your door. This is a cosy farming game during the day, but the other half of it is a cryptic and creepy mystery.
