Today marks three years since Hamas launched a full-scale terrorist attack against Israel, resulting in over 1,200 people murdered, including more than 350 at the Re’im Music Festival. On this anniversary, it is important to remember the men, women, and children whose lives were taken during this heinous attack. Israel remains our most important ally in the Middle East, and we stand with them in solidarity against future violence.

Earlier today, the @FBI and @ENERGY conducted a coordinated effort to arrest an individual who allegedly exploited the trust of the U.S. Government to the benefit of a foreign terrorist organization. There is a zero tolerance policy for individuals who betray our government for the sake of terrorism and if these allegations are true, this individual should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The State of Washington supported Oregon’s and environmental groups’ litigation to increase spill and reduce power generation at dams on the Columbia and Snake Rivers, resulting in a proposed $250M surcharge from BPA. Actions have consequences. Ratepayers are footing the bill for Attorney General Brown’s insistence on attacking our dams.

On this day in 1787, our Constitution was signed in Philadelphia. After almost 240 years, the principles and beliefs of our Republic remain steadfast, a testament to our Founding Fathers and their vision for our Nation.

Today, we remember and honor those we lost 25 years ago and the individuals who did not hesitate to answer the call of duty when it mattered most. 

In the aftermath, America showed its resilience and unity in the face of an unimaginable tragedy.

Thank you to the brave firefighters and first responders who have worked tirelessly to bring 100% containment to the Colwash and Kaiser Canyon fires. Their hard work and dedication has saved the lives, land and livestock of countless Washingtonians. Wildfire season is not over yet, so stay updated on the wildfires close to you to be safe and prepared.

The science is clear, the gray wolf population has fully recovered. I thank @POTUS for taking a step in the right direction towards delisting this apex predator that has been wreaking havoc on ranchers in my district and across rural America. The Senate should pass the Pet and Livestock Protection Act, send the legislation to the President’s desk, and finish the job.

Today, I was invited to speak with the @tricitychamber and deliver a congressional update. In this update I discussed progress being made regarding appropriations, cleanup efforts at Hanford, the Farm Bill, agricultural labor, H-2A reform, and PNNL. I have been proud to serve the Tri-Cities during my time in Congress and will continue to do so during these last few months of my term.
