We've won more games in Philly in the last nine days than the Flyers, Eagles, and Phillies combined this month.

The Flyers' horrible first six game stretch is the worst season start recorded in the analytics era (2007 onward) in 5v5 xGoal share and shot share.
It's also the second-worst six-game stretch of 5v5 shot share (33.3%) since then period, and the fifth-worst of xGF% (31.1%)

Maybe the Flyers should keep everything in tact and just get a new coach.
Same scouts from previous gms, same development guys who haven’t developed much over the last decade, etc. keep those guys, though.

Briere is not a good GM.
Tocchet is not a good coach.
Jones and Hilferty don't know what they're doing.
The only thing that will save this team is Comcast selling them.
7th highest NHL franchise, sell high @ComcstSpectacor

To My Mental Health Colleagues
Some days I feel like a piano tuner living in a world of out-of-tune pianos. So much discord, so many people who have grown accustomed to it, and so many who insist nothing is wrong.
A reminder to my colleagues, and myself: We can’t tune every piano. Nor is it our job to try. Sometimes we need to step away, rest our ears, and simply enjoy the music.

Why is in-person work often preferable in psychotherapy? Because often enough we're working to help the patient become confidently themselves not only in their living room but when they're out and about, truly exposed to the full-blown, defence-precipitating, otherness of others.
Flyers in the category we’ve been used to for 15 years: mediocrity. At least it’s pure!

“We all have paranoid-schizoid defenses within. In the times when we decide someone is ‘a jerk’ or ‘useless’ or any one way, we’re engaging in an infantile process that collapses and simplifies reality so that we can bear it more easily.”

Basics, but great reminders!
“Facilitating process: enabling client, in mostly non-directive way, to uncover & express ever more meaningful aspects of their experience; to embody a way-of-being that allows their lifeworld to gradually reveal itself to both parties over time.”
My new article is out! Integrative therapy is now the norm, yet trainees often struggle to turn theoretical diversity into coherent clinical practice. The Three Pillars Model offers a practical developmental framework for learning the art of psychotherapy.
