Tool spotlight: Lemu
Chile's state copper company now watches a 5,870-hectare nature reserve from space.
The tool behind it comes from a lakeside town in southern Chile. 🧵
Chilean startup @LemuEarth designed its own satellite, Lemu Nge. A phone camera records three colours; it records 32 bands of light.

→ Timber firm Arauco tracks 91,859 ha with it

The satellite is still young: its first results showed patterns of diversity, not yet individual species.
Companies learned to count carbon to the tonne. Nature is next.

Erik sells AI to German companies and municipalities. What slows them down is mostly not the technology. 🧵
