Nicky Henderson on Old Park Star: 🗣️ "He had a great season over hurdles. He was totally dominant in the Rossington Main at Haydock and was very good again when he won the Supreme. Over the years we've been lucky enough with our Supreme and Turners horses to then ask the question, would you be able to win the Champion Hurdle? In some years the answer has been yes, in which case they've gone down the Champion Hurdle path. In others it has been no and we've sent the horse chasing. The interesting one was Altior, because he could have won the Champion Hurdle, but he jumped so well that we switched him to fences. We asked the question of Old Park Star and Act Of Innocence and decided they are both chasers. Old Park Star was deadly accurate over hurdles and has so much scope to jump fences. I hope and think he's an Arkle horse and I imagine we'll plan to take him down the same early route Lulamba took. Exeter is a wonderful place to start a young chaser – although we know they are having problems with the ground – and it would be ideal if a run there took him on to Sandown for the Henry VIII. We can then see how we go from there."

Tom Segal's NAP of the season is LOVE ME TENDER to win the Supreme (25-1): 🗣️ "There will be loads of French horses, but if it's anything like last year's race, which it has the potential to be, he beat last year's lot already, and he's only had one run over hurdles"

Cheltenham's chief executive, Guy Lavender said: 🗣️ "Every bar in the grandstand has been refurbished. It's not just been a lick of paint, but to provide more bar service, better seating under cover, and we've done that across the racecourse. We know it's a key frustration if you have to stand in a queue for a long time." "Having under-cover places where people can sit down has been a real necessity. We started to do that last season with The Retreat, a big, undercover space in the temporary village. We're going to use that from the November meeting onwards."

Nicky Henderson on Jango Baie: 🗣️ "When he came back from Aintree last year he had a chip in a joint that required a screw, but it's the sort of thing that mends really well and it hardly interrupted his campaign. This time he came back from Aintree with a problem with a ligament in a hind leg and we're still waiting for him to be 100 per cent recovered. He won't be ready for anything over Christmas, which rules out the King George, so we're concentrating on trying to get him back for a race before Cheltenham. I think we have a good chance of getting him to the Gold Cup, but we obviously need to get going with him as soon as possible. I could see the next two years being his prime years, and I still think we're on the up with him, but there's nothing we can do to speed things up and we just have to take our time."
