been thinking about why AI coding and AI music feel so different. faster code lets me build things i couldn't before.
making 100 more songs doesn't give anyone 100 more reasons to care.
the value of automation depends on what you're making.
also, i actually like making music. there are tedious parts i'd happily automate, but the process itself is a big part of why i do it.
great hotel btw
Elizabeth Holmes' handwritten notes to herself from her Theranos days. These notes exude authenticity and warmth. This is not a person who treats herself as an instrument to be optimally calibrated for power, status, and influence: robkhenderson.com/p/a-guilty…
you can just build things now.
I built a @Patreon MCP.
github.com/andreanjos/patreo…
- pull campaigns/tiers/patrons/posts
- analyze patron status + lifetime support
- draft/publish/schedule/delete posts
- manage webhooks
FYI, post writes use patreon's hidden api, not the official one. I hope they see this and add it to official api.
you can just build stuff now
this is a sensor that tracks how much water is left in my berkey water filter. my tap water is pretty good quality but it's an extra assurance knowing it's properly filtered and without buying bottled water.
it's easy to forget to refill it because there's no visual cue of how much is left until you literally try to fill a cup.
so I built a 3d printed scale with opus 5.5, it sourced the parts, designed the shape, wrote the esp32 code, and now i have a simple visual cue for anybody in the house of when it needs to be refilled. I also get a notification through home assistant.
is this necessary? absolutely not, but it's one less thing to think about.

i built a digital version of my house in blender based on polycam lidar scans, then astra did a detail pass based on photos. basically every lamp, door, plant or electronic component is viewable in this format. i can toggle lights, see if plants need watering. The blender version is used by imagegen to create these stylized dioramas, that react to their actual state and time of day.
this is all seamless inside of the home assistant app as a dashboard.
when people talk about personalized software this is what I envision.
you can just build stuff now,
3d printed enclosure for networking equipment, pretty much entirely designed by astra.
I could have done a small 10" rack, but it didnt fit my ecoflow UPS and this is just a small satellite AP in a room. It has a enclosure in the back for a power strip and looks cleaner than a bunch of scattered equipment.
you can just build stuff now,
home assistant dashboard/calendar.
it shows me at a glance what is open/locked, air temp, co2, what plants need watering, power consumption.
pi zero with e-ink display. I had astra design the enclosure which is obviously oversized. the base is actually 2x5U gridfinity compatible.
problem solved
amazon is blocking grok @bots from ordering, and elon's answer is just have your bot buy it somewhere else.
one of my grok bots only handles my amazon returns, so i'm watching this one closely.
would you switch stores for your bot? 🛒
Elon, i think its time for an X Shop? 👀
