A nice 4-page "Story of Change" just published by @reachwater based on the work we did in #Ethiopia establishing #citizen_science for monitoring water resources. 🇪🇹💧🌾🌳🌦️

❤️🩹STORY OF CHANGE
WASH services are key but often lacking in Kenya's health care facilities.
A pilot study ran by @FundiFix in 2020/21 in 12 HCFs in Kitui estimates that providing reliable 💧 & handwashing service in HCFs costs ≈ $1/patient visit.
reachwater.uk/impact/enhanci…
The study also found that:
🚽 No public dispensary achieved a basic sanitation service;
🧼 1/3 lacked basic hygiene services;
💧 83% dispensaries reported high water services levels, but reliance on rainwater harvesting make them vulnerable during the dry season.
Ethiopia has achieved 75% access to piped water in urban areas - yet most water supply systems remain intermittent.
New REACH briefing note shares 3 recommendations for inclusive water services in intermittent piped water systems in Ethiopian small towns:

'2 billion people lack access to #safewater' - a stat we've heard a lot during #UN2023WaterConference.
Prof @katrinacharles debunks what's behind the stat: Is it accurate? Does it tell the full story? And how do we get to universal access by 2030?
