Climate clearly doesn't even come second with this Labour Government.
They've just approved Jackdaw - a new gas field.
And have still not ruled out Rosebank for oil.
We need to be investing in renewables & insulating peoples homes to lower our bills.

Lisa Nandy's claim that nobody in Britain has had to fight a war since 1945 was an extraordinary thing to say on Remembrance Sunday.
Korea, the Falklands, Iraq, Afghanistan.
You can defend the intention behind her words while recognising how badly they were expressed. Veterans deserve better.

The most obscenely dystopian government crackdown on human empathy and the freedom to express solidarity with victims of Israel’s perverse ideology is now being imposed within England’s education system.
So here it is: a hierarchy of government-sanctioned racism will now browbeat and oppress any child in England who dares to speak out about the genocide in Gaza.
Stories like the one below will mount up very quickly, then what?

Zack Polanski speaking at the London Assembly on November 5th 2026,
"The chutzpah, the audacity for you to lecture a Jewish man in the chamber on anti-semitism, will be seen as utterly absurd, as it should be"
"Being Jewish and being a zionist are two different things"
"We can look at zionism throughout history, whether you want to talk about it philosophically or it's practical applications"
"Theodor Herzl, the modern founder of zionism said: it was a colonialist project. He saw it as that"
"1948, the Nakba, 750,000 Palestinians displaced and ethnically cleansed"
"2026, we have just witnessed 75,000 Palestinians murdered and more child amputees in modern history"
"To the Labour group, your own Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, I had to push him several times but he eventually conceded that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide"
"Is it not the Labour position that a genocide is not racist?"
"That a genocide is ok?"
"That your government can continue to arm a genocide, and those of us who call it out are apparently the racists"
"I'm reading a book at the moment by the excellent Benjamin Moser called Anti-Zionism: A Jewish History"
"It looks at the last 150 years and at Jewish people who stood on the right side of history, who said we're incredibly proud to be Jewish"
"Being brought up Jewish is a huge part of my identity"
"And, because I'm Jewish, I grew up with the story of teh Holocaust"
"This motion was co-proposed by Stephen Kapos, a Holocaust survivor"
"And we say never again, not just for one group of people, but for all groups of people"
My view:
The London Assembly motion had three parts: condemning the Greens’ position on Zionism; reaffirming opposition to antisemitism and Jewish Londoners’ right to live without fear; and expressing solidarity with London’s Jewish community.
Polanski opposed the first and supported the other two. That distinction matters when discussing what he voted against.
There is extraordinary audacity in lecturing Britain’s only Jewish leader of a major political party about antisemitism while giving so little weight to his explanation of his own Jewish identity and convictions.
His Jewishness does not place him beyond criticism.
But an accusation this serious requires evidence of prejudice against Jewish people.
Opposition to Zionism or condemnation of the Israeli government cannot, by themselves, establish that.
Jewish people hold different views about Zionism, Israel and Palestinian rights.
Those who oppose Zionism deserve to have their arguments heard without their Jewish identity being dismissed or their concern for Jewish safety treated as insincere.
Equally, Jewish people who consider Zionism central to their identity deserve respect and protection from prejudice.
What stood out in Polanski’s speech was his explanation that his commitment to Palestinian rights comes from his Jewish upbringing and the lessons he draws from the Holocaust.
You can challenge his conclusions, or the Green motion’s wording, while recognising the moral conviction he is expressing.
His final principle deserves a serious response: “never again” must mean protecting every people from persecution and mass killing.
Jewish safety and freedom, and Palestinian safety and freedom are causes we should be capable of defending together.

Barnier has actually made the point that Britain would NOT have to join the euro or Schengen if it rejoins the EU, but the BBC failed to mention that - focusing instead on his unsurprising point that the single market cannot be cherry picked.

I know many of us have our reservations re the Greens because of all the traitors who sold us out in Labour but listening to Zack Polanski, I can’t see he is going to backtrack on his beliefs that the Israelis are carrying out a genocide. I think it’s time to back him.

Replying to @TheGreenParty
@TheGreenParty +3. 💚🌍
Something is shifting. And not just here in Britain.
Across the world, we're beginning to see people pushing back. From Brazil to the US, where recent elections have shown the power of movements demanding something fundamentally different.
Politics that puts people before wealth, communities before corporate interests, and the future of our planet before the profits of a few.
For decades, we've been told that economic growth is the ultimate measure of progress, even as inequality deepens, public services crumble and our planet is pushed towards catastrophe.
But what if we stopped accepting that this is simply how the world works?
What if we started measuring success by how well people and the planet thrive?
I genuinely believe we're entering a period of extraordinary possibility.
The old political and economic consensus is being challenged, and we have an opportunity not simply to replace those in power, but to fundamentally rethink what power is for.
That's why I'm backing @ZackPolanski and the Greens.
If you share that vision, get involved. Join, speak up, organise and help build the movement.
A better world isn't just possible. It's ours to build. 💚

Theo Paphitis, "Clearly President Trump has some form of illness or dementia because he's acting like a madman"
"He's a sex offender. He's a convicted felon"
"He's a protector of the pedophile ring of Jeffrey Epstein"
"He's bankrupted companies"
"How the hell did this man get voted in as the President of the strongest nation in the world"
My view:
Paphitis’s disbelief is understandable. A man convicted on 34 felony counts, found liable in a civil case for sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll, and associated with repeated corporate bankruptcies was nevertheless returned to the presidency.
Those facts alone demand a serious discussion about political accountability.
Winning an election gives someone the authority to govern. It does not erase their record, establish their integrity or oblige the public to stop challenging them.

It isn’t proper for a national library to be charging for access to spaces that were paid for by the public: also London is overrun by loss making “flexible workspaces”. The BL consultation on its future barely mentions books or access to knowledge. Save @britishlibrary .

I have a history PhD from Oxford and try to support all of my historical claims with strong evidence, particularly when regarding the president of the United States.
But based on a comprehensive review of 250 years of American history, it is simply irrefutable that Donald Trump is by far the most corrupt president in U.S. history when it comes to using the office to enrich himself and his family.
Here are the facts, and why there isn’t even a close second.
Trump’s own federal financial disclosure reported more than $1.4 billion in 2025 income from family crypto ventures, including about $635 million from his meme coin and nearly $800 million from World Liberty Financial. Reuters separately estimated that the family added at least $2.3 billion to its fortune from crypto ventures after Trump returned to the White House.
The clearest example of how Trump used the office came in May 2025. The 220 biggest holders of his meme coin were invited to dine with the sitting president at his private golf club. The coin jumped more than 60 percent when the dinner was announced. To get a seat at the table, you had to buy and hold a product that made the president money. Trump turned access to the presidency into a sales pitch.
The foreign dealings raise an even more serious question. Four days before Trump took office, an investment vehicle backed by a UAE national security official agreed to pay $500 million for nearly half of World Liberty Financial. The Wall Street Journal reported that $187 million of the initial payment was directed to Trump family entities.
Trump is clearly not the first United States president to be guilty of corruption, but the size and scale of his malfeasance put him in a league of his own.
Under Ulysses S. Grant, whiskey distillers and federal officials pocketed money by cheating the government out of liquor taxes. Under Warren Harding, Interior Secretary Albert Fall took bribes in exchange for leasing federal oil reserves. Richard Nixon had a personal tax scandal, but his defining abuse of presidential power was the Watergate cover-up, an effort to protect his hold on office. LBJ’s political connections helped turn a small Texas radio station into a family broadcasting empire.
By September 2025, less than eight months into Donald Trump’s second term, he and his family were roughly $5 billion richer than they had been around the 2024 election, according to Forbes. In comparison, a reasonable estimate is that all 44 other U.S. presidents combined added about $250 million to their wealth while in office, adjusted to today’s dollars. That puts the Trump family’s gain at about 20 times the estimated combined total for all other presidents over the course of two and half centuries.
The election results were, at least in part, a clear repudiation of this staggering and historically unprecedented corruption. Congress now has a mandate to investigate, follow the money, pursue the recovery of all ill-gotten gains, and enact enforceable safeguards so that no president can ever again use the White House as a vehicle for personal enrichment.
