Comments from referee Jon Freemon after Toklomati's goal:
"The use of discriminatory language was reported, and the protocol was enacted accordingly. This included informing both head coaches and the captains of the allegation. None of the officials heard the alleged comment, and the game concluded without any further issues."
The streak lives on! Union draw with Charlotte to go 15 unbeaten. #DOOP
philadelphiasoccernow.com/20…
FT - Pierre heroically clears two late crosses from Charlotte, and it’s full time in Chester with a 2-2 draw. The Union’s win streak ends at 8 in Chester, but the unbeaten streak is now up to 15 matches. Thoughts, Union fans?
90+11’ - Foul by Harriel in a dangerous area with a minute left. Union will have to guard up here. [2-2]
90+8’ - Over the bar! Harriel dives to head the ball at the back post but it’s too low and it bounces over. Nate could have gone with feet there. 4 minutes left of the minimum 12 added minutes. [2-2]
90+4’ - Saved again by Kahlina! Quinn takes a shot from distance, but it’s down the middle and stings the palms of Kahlina. Another chance gone begging for the U. [2-2]
90+2’ - SAVED BY KAHLINA! It’s so good from the Union in possession. Quinn finds Cavan who fires on goal, but he’s denied by Kahlina again! Kahlina has been Charlotte’s best player in this one. [2-2]
89’ - OFF THE POST! A deep ball in by Biel finds Kessler who heads off the post! The Union got away with one there, could have been a third for Charlotte. [2-2]
82’ - Bruno tried to work through the injury (and did with a goal), but has to come off now. Malik Jakupovic enters. [2-2]
This is a brilliant team goal by the Union. Richter's squad is the best the Union have ever played in possession. Broke down Charlotte with ease here
73’ - GOAL BRUNO! WHAT A GOAL! It’s brilliant linkup play from Iloski, Danley and Damiani, who link up with a few quick touches on the edge of the area. Danley back heels to tee up Bruno, who fires into the back post! Game on! [2-2]
66’ - The ball is in the net, but it’s offside! Damiani goes down after being collided with by Morrison. Iloski plays Cavan in who scores, but the flag is up! [1-2]
Weird part of this, Morrison is on a yellow and has come through the back of Damiani countless times. That could have been a second yellow, and that decision shouldn't be influenced by the decision to play the advantage
62’ - Goal Charlotte, and it’s Toklomati. Schnegg whips in from the left, and Toklomati heads to the back post. He doesn’t get much power on it at all, but Andre Blake is in no man’s land and should do better there. [1-2]
