Based on verification of images, reports and comparative investigative analysis by the International Centre for Human Rights, to date approximately 43,000 people have been killed, 350,000 injured, 20,000 arrested and await possible execution.
“Taken together, ICHR believes that this body of evidence, methods, and data presents a clear picture of a systematic and organized campaign of repression and mass killing; one that may silence the streets in the short term, but will not resolve the underlying crisis.
Silence by the international community in the face of such violent repression and crimes against humanity will only enable the repetition and escalation of these atrocities.”

Still in two minds if below is the tweet of the year or just the musings of a bored celeb who fast forwards the tasks during Traitors suffering mental malnourishment.

What brings me joy as a football fan is seeing Ronaldo’s massive smile after he announces Harry Kane 😊💥
Fantastic news that Harry Kane has won the Ballon d’Or 2026, beating the likes of Mbappe and Yamal. His stats have been insane this year. Worked so hard for this and the wonderful thing is there is so much more to come. Especially for his country. Great boost for England 🏴

.@MariaCorinaYA, welcome home.
Your return to your homeland must fill you with joy as it inspires Venezuelans and all those fighting for democracy around the world.
The people of Iran stand with the people of Venezuela. When our nations are free, we will be steadfast friends.
Flowers do not have ears or brains. But speaking to a few plants 🌱 they tell me flowers do in fact like being talked to.

Headline: regime in Iran pull a propaganda stunt to show strength and how they are winning the war.
But it’s not what it seems.
In fact it’s David Blaine in Iran attempting to beat his 44 day public performance art stunt called “Above the Below” where Blaine suspended himself inside a transparent Plexiglas box in 2003 over Tower Bridge. But this time in a costume.
Why? To make a point. What point? To spend 44 days in a cage to work out why the hell he did that London stunt in the first place.
Imagine being so embarrassed by who you are that you disguise yourself as Donald Trump and allow them to use your art as pro-regime propaganda.
امیدوارم اون احمق لااقل پول خوبی گرفته باشه

Nothing says confidence in your own regime quite like building a cage, putting a man dressed as Donald Trump inside it and calling it a demonstration of strength.
I'm sure the Iranian people are reassured that their government has its priorities straight.

Today is the 60th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster. My son didn’t know anything about it so we watched the episode of The Crown on @netflix season 3 to help him understand.
This scene particularly moved me. Even though it was an appalling man made tragedy, Prince Phillip explains what he saw when visiting: the families of the victims sang, and sang beautifully, when burying their children.
Which reminded me of when so many families of the massacred Iranians did something similar this January: when burying their children they played music and danced. Two things you are not allowed to do in public under this regime.
Despite the anger and the rage, despite the feeling of utter betrayal, they both collectively chose constructive resilience. So instead of fighting back with hostility or giving up, they focused on upholding core values and finding hope and humanity where there is none, with a fundamental message to those responsible that ‘you can kill us, but you will never break us.’
People make a country, and it’s the realisation of the sheer humanity of these moments in people’s fight for justice and dignity that are the defining moments in the history of a country.

Growing up in Wales, Aberfan is one of those tragedies that stays with you, even if you weren't alive when it happened.
What has always struck me is the extraordinary dignity of the families, despite everything they endured.
Your comparison with the Iranian families is incredibly moving. Different tragedies, but the same refusal to let suffering extinguish humanity.

Hoping he's not going to propose the pedestrianisation of the city centre. People need access to Dixon's.
