ALT Image of an index finger holding a small oval shaped bit of creamy brown coloured limestone which measures 11mm top to bottom. In the centre is a gastropod which has a tall spiral shell resembling a unicorn horn. Underneath is a net like texture - this is a fossilised bryozoan. The bryozoans are lying on top of a circular disc which is the ossicle of a crinoid. The crinoid is on top of a fragment of brachiopod shell which shows some preservation of its original shell.

ALT Image of two fingers holding a light grey coloured, irregularly shaped bit of rock about 120mm in length. On the left hand side of the rock is some brown-orange coloured staining, which is the weathered surface of the rock. In the centre is a black fossilised seed fern from the Upper Carboniferous. The fossil contains original carbon which is why it’s black, and it contrasts well against the pale matrix. The lobes are rounded in shape.
