We’re advising you to check before you travel between Friday and Monday as strong winds and rain can impact the railway.

⛈️ Storms Austen and Boelo may disrupt train journeys in the North West over the next few days.
🤳 Check @NationalRailEnq for the latest service information.
We'll be monitoring conditions and responding quickly to keep the railway running safely.
⚠️ From Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November, there will be no trains between York and Leeds via Church Fenton whilst major engineering improvement works take place.
The work will be divided into two phases: this weekend will affect a broader section of the network, including routes from Moorthorpe, Selby, Doncaster and Northallerton. Engineering work will also disrupt the route via Harrogate. After the weekend, the number of affected routes will decrease.
Replacement buses will be running to keep you moving and journey times will be longer.
Please check before you travel, allow plenty of extra time and plan ahead.

👏 Two everyday heroes. One life-saving response. 🦸
A huge well done to Josh and Neil, our Travel Safe Officers, who helped save a passenger who had fallen onto the tracks at Lea Green station.
When they heard a loud bang, Josh and Neil acted quickly, working together to get the train stopped, help the injured passenger to safety and administer first aid.
Despite a frightening situation, they remained calm under pressure and stayed with the passenger to make sure he was okay.
Their quick thinking, courage and teamwork are a powerful example of the difference our people make every day across the Northern network. 💙
Josh and Neil were nominated for a Lifesaver Award at the 2026 RailStaff Awards in recognition of their actions.
