This morning Jacob Siegel manufactured a controversy to gin up sales for his error-riddled book; he admits as much in the article he wrote for @TheFP, where he plays victim and pretends that a correction is cEnsoRsHiP.
He says I "didn't deny" asking The Baffler to pull its review of my book but I absolutely fucking do lol. And I did on the phone with an editor for The Free Press this afternoon. Somehow, Jacob's email to me demanding my emails with other publications was supposed to serve as its own factcheck.
Here's what actually happened: "Corrections Are Censorship: Jacob Siegel’s Latest Fiction"

No evidence of Lula cheating or vote-count fraud has emerged. TSE certified the official results: first round Flávio ~56.1M, Lula ~53.9M (others ~9.3M); runoff Lula 64.3M (+10.4M), Flávio 59.8M (+3.7M).
The jump matches higher turnout (abstention dropped from 21% to 19%) plus fewer blanks/nulls, mobilizing more Lula-leaning voters who sat out round 1. Flávio rejects the result over a last-minute two-hour voting extension for transport issues (sought by both sides) but has shown no proof it flipped the outcome.
Community Notes will fail on every politically contentious issue where timing matters. I run an AI note writer. This is going to happen in the US next week.

Folks, Brazil is the perfect example of what I’ve said about this platform and Community Notes since Elon launched it.
Tonight and all day tomorrow, your feed will fill with thousands of posts claiming the Brazil election was stolen because Lula’s buddy on the Supreme Court extended voting by 2 hours.
That claim, we already know, is absolute bullshit.
Both campaigns asked for the extension, Flávio Bolsonaro’s included, after bus shortages and bad weather hit voters in several cities.

Almost every one of those posts will run note-free. The few that get a Community Note will get it after the damage is done.
MAGA propaganda spreads like wildfire here for one reason: Elon Musk designed it that way. Community Notes has always been a red herring.
Give it a few hours. Musk will repost one of his favorite stooges with a one-word “Concerning,” and that lie will land in front of his 241 million followers.
And Community Notes will never catch up.
So when I call Elon Musk Trump’s Joseph Goebbels, I mean every word.
“I couldn’t reason my way out of a paper bag but I’m going to use spy-movie words that sound like I’ve uncovered a secret plot. Buy my ghostwritten book about a “sinister elite” who took over America, written while Trump was president and Rs controlled both the House and the Senate.”

"Everyone" is fixated on Brazil because for a century, the same cabal of NGOs have been running regime change operations all over the world in the name of "democracy." And they're now targeting the United States.

Lula has been elected President of Brazil for a fourth term, defeating Jair Bolsonaro.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
President Lula's (Image 1) opponent in the runoff was Flavio Bolsonaro, son of Jair Bolsonaro (Image 2).

There's a new version of this post
These cranks have pushed the same CoLor ReVoLutioN slop ahead of the last 3 elections. What color were the revolutions they said were going to happen in 2020, 2022, and 2024?

This probably hits hard if you failed history in high school.
Hitler was a far-Right fascist whose party was named the National Socialist German Workers' Party to attract working-class voters.
Then he banned the Social Democratic and Communist parties, and sent socialists and communists to concentration camps.

It appears the Russian Storm-1516 narrative laundering campaign has finally come for the U.S. midterms.
Yesterday they placed a false story on X saying James Talarico sexually assaulted one of his students in 2012.
This follows the Russian playbook. Let me show you how.

Community Notes is a great program. It’s also struggling with the most contentious topics — including elections. I wrote about the AI notewriter program here:

Wait so disinformation campaigns and influence operations are real?
People come to X to talk about what's happening in the world, including the upcoming 2026 US midterms. Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and we are proud that X is the global town square where these debates happen. Our job is to keep that conversation authentic, open, and safe.
To ensure these fundamental values are protected during elections, our Safety team uses a variety of detection methods to proactively find and act on activity that breaks the X Rules. These measures build on the safety protections we run 24/7, year-round. X's Authenticity Policy is particularly important to this work. Whether it is spam networks or entities engaged in influence operations, we are actively working to identify and stop coordinated inauthentic behavior that undermines the integrity of our platform.

Through proactive sweeps and investigations, X recently identified and suspended more than 13,000 accounts involved in three suspected foreign influence operations linked to Iran, Russia, and China that targeted US political conversation. The networks used inauthentic accounts to post and amplify content about US politics, targeting candidates and public figures across the political spectrum.

X's Civic Integrity policy addresses misleading content that could affect participation in elections or other civic processes. This includes content that may confuse people about how, when, or where to participate, or that aims to discourage participation. X relies on Community Notes, which let people add context and credible sources, alongside platform moderation. Users can report content under "Civic Integrity" in our in-app reporting flow, and their submission will be routed to request a Community Note, a collaborative way to add helpful context to posts and keep people better informed. Additionally, in critical escalations, X may apply a Civic Integrity label to posts that violate our policy.
We remain committed to X as a global town square where people openly debate topics of public interest and engage with election-related information. Our work continues through Election Day and beyond.
See our Civic Integrity Policy for more information:

Another clear, accessible reality-check from @noUpside .
The drone strikes on Yandex *did* disrupt automated web-indexing bots. But no evidence re: political trolls.
Alas, political demonization of disinformation research has made it hard to tell.

Bolivia expelled USAID in 2013 under Morales for alleged interference and opposition funding. Ecuador forced its 2014 exit under Correa over similar charges after blocking program renewals. Venezuela ordered USAID’s OTI out in 2010-11 under Chávez for funding critics post-2002 coup attempt. All three left governments saw it as hostile; US called programs development aid. The assertion matches the expulsions and their stated views.

This is very, very dumb. Colombia, Peru, and Honduras have had mostly right-wing governments for decades; the countries with the longest period of left-wing rule (Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela) all expelled USAID, because they (correctly) viewed it as hostile to them.
Political influencers are propagandists.
It appears @bennyjohnson has now deleted his X post where he clearly pre-composed a post about Sen. Schmitt getting Jack Smith to perjure himself. Genuinely crazy how many big accts on this website appear to be coordinating with Republican politicians behind the scenes.
