So this is the thing for NFT tokens. 1) launching a xxxstr will jeopardise the existing NFT tokens that were launched 2) so either build a linkage between the xxxstr and the NFT token or 3) Internalise the same logic (fees-> sell at 1.2x -> token burn) for the NFT token Alignment of NFT holder interest and token holder interest is the key here.

Over last several years, me & Newman invested in and advised web3 projects in all verticals: NFTs, DeFis (tons of BTCfis), socials, gaming, infras, etc. Not many know that, but Newman and myself have invested in / advised most NFT projects / their affiliations. @Igloo / @pudgypenguins , @animecoin @Memeland, @dapperlabs, @TaprootWizards, @RektCoin, @Pixelmon, @yugalabs (small $). Since I dedicated time to the first @ComplexCon HK as an investor, I had gradually shifted focus to investing more time in web3 culture. And fast forward to now, I am all in on web3 native IPs, I am all in supporting NFTs.

Gonna focus on looking at the NFT market this coming week, brainstorming ideas and talking to interesting founders and see how I can grow with them. And who knows? I might launch a collection this cycle. Contrary to what most thought (at least few weeks back before the recent pumps in fp), imo the NFT market has advanced significantly, thanks to multiple leaders in the space. NFTs have now evolved beyond arts, if structured strategically, they can propel building consumer-aligned products, platforms or even empires. I actually think we will see unicorn consumer companies next few years starting as NFT collections, but not simply using NFT as tools. The key here: NFTs aren’t just tools.

Being an investor I invest in founders. What does that mean? Channeling down it means I invest in the platform that founders are building, because I believe in the vision overall. And that has got tricky over years. Why? There are ways and tools for founders to build out platforms. NFTs, tokens, memes, traditional capital markets, etc. a founder can have setbacks at one of these, for example, NFTs get fucked in FP, but it doesn’t mean the overall platform gets fucked as he focuses on other tools to grow the platform. Obviously ideally he excels at everyone of them to amplify the growth on a high level. It would mean being an investor, you need to have the right alignment AT THE TOP LEVEL, or at EVERY LEVEL. 1) you either own % of the parent company. Like I invested in @Igloo so whatever built underlying, I get exposure to them. 2) for something like @Memeland, I need to get exposed not just to the token and NFT, but once @MemeStrategy was launched, I bought shares as well. As investors, you have to think deep, we can’t complain why one tool is down and just another tool is up, when all the founders care is to grow the platform. Just think deep on how you can get best exposed to what the founders are building, I.e the platform.

Being a NFT enthusiat, I have a question for everyone here. Fundamentally do you still think a new NFT collection (if launching now vs the hype time 2021-2022) can still drive community formation? i.e. A group of folks with similar belief / vision buying a NFT not just because of price movement (it's one of the factors). I want to look beyond the relatively bearish NFT market, it has got me thinking a lot lately. @waleswoosh @Zagabond @LucaNetz @MINHxDYNASTY

You were tweeting about $loud, I was tweeting about $hatch. $hatch is truly a community token, not a KOL cabal token. Look at $loud now…. $hatch at 100m fdv is a true validation on how community tokens should be launched. And most importantly, it marks the beginning of how decentralized game publishing should be done, alongside communities. Big month for @Revolving_Games.

Was catching up with a fellow founder today, two projects that I think are interestingly tackling consumer crypto: 1) @Revolving_Games - as a studio, they are receiving millions of revenue from games launched, with 100% community-based tokens. First game @Hatchkings is perceived very well among community and $hatch is sitting at 55m FDV. Stay tuned to the main token launching soon. 2) @rektdrinks - they sold 500k+ (forgot exact number) of drinks with a incentive based mechanism. Started with a free minted NFT collection, the REKT brand also has a huge community on day 1 as consumers. $rekt sitting at ~120m. No bs, if you don’t get consumers (users who pay for your products), you haven’t worked out consumer crypto, that simple..

IMO a $pengu etf makes much more sense than sth like a $sui etf. No normie would know what’s sui… but @pudgypenguins? Oh yea.
