I have received the first official estimate of the cost to Scotland's pensioners of the Prime Minister's attack on the triple lock.
It will take up to £4bn from Scotland's pensioners. And the Prime Minister plans to use it to pay for social care in England.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The £4bn is a Scottish Government projection for lower state pension payments in Scotland by 2049-50 vs the current triple lock. The state pension is UK-wide. Increased English social care spending would bring additional Barnett formula funding to Scotland. gov.scot/publications/d… heraldscotland.com/news/26595468.… instituteforgovernment.org.uk/article/explai…

The levels of drugs deaths in Scotland are unacceptable, intolerable, and I want to express my deepest sympathies to everyone who has lost a loved one.
I will work across the chamber and with families to do everything we can to reduce this tragic loss of life.
The Women’s Aid network in Scotland has been one of our most consequential movements in addressing a malevolent scourge in society - violence against women & girls. While we wish their services were not necessary I’m proud to have been part of their 50th Anniversary conference
We were pleased to be joined by Neil Gray, Cabinet Secretary for Justice, at our Members' Conference in Stirling this morning.
In his keynote address, he spoke about improving access to justice for women experiencing domestic abuse and highlighted the incredible work of our local, specialist, Women's Aid services for how they support women, children and young people.
''As I thought about this event today, I was struck by how many thousands of women the Scottish Women's Aid network must have helped over the last fifty years. The women you have advised and helped to stay safe. The women you have advised and helped to provide refuge. The women you have guided through the justice system. The women you have supported to rebuild their lives - the women whose lives you have literally saved.''

The Scottish Parliament has overwhelmingly voted to back Scotland's right to decide our future.
Now it's time to turn that right into reality and ensure that people in Scotland can make their voices heard in a referendum.
Westminster must not stand in the way of democracy.
Neil Gray MSP retweeted
While we might disagree on independence, we can all agree that Scotland is a nation, and its people have the right to decide their future.
That is the simple principle I'm asking all MSPs in the Scottish Parliament to vote for today.
Neil Gray MSP retweeted
The old Westminster position of denying Scotland’s democracy is no longer sustainable.
There is now a growing acceptance that Scotland has the right to decide its future - and we will ensure that the people of Scotland get that choice.
Neil Gray MSP retweeted
This is a hugely significant moment. For the first time since 2014, Scottish Labour accept Scotland’s right to decide our own future, just as the Prime Minister has.
We now need to turn that principle into an opportunity for people to make their voice heard.
The new leader of Scottish Labour says he is backing the right for Scotland to decide its own future.
