Bucs HC Todd Bowles on the QB plans for their game at Carolina Sunday. Baker Mayfield will practice Wed.
Bucs coach Todd Bowles on P Riley Dixon, who is 31st of 33 in punting average and 33rd of 33 in net punting. “We got to get more hang time,” Bowles said. “We got to get more distance. Obviously, I didn't think yesterday was a performance indicative of what he can do. When he gets good punts, they probably get about an eight or 10 yard return. When he doesn't get good punts, that's not good for us. So we definitely got to be better there.”
Bucs coach Todd Bowles said Baker Mayfield is supposed to practice Wed but they will initially game plan as if Jalon Daniels is starting. “I mean, he's supposed practice Wednesday,” Bowles said of Mayfield. “We'll take a good look at him there, and we'll kind of evaluate him during the week and see how he does.”
Mike Evans on why he left the Bucs for the 49ers: “This team rejuvenated me and probably added a few more years to my career… They had everything I needed and checked every box. They’re trying to win now. The quarterback, great skill players, great defense, great coaching staff, and lastly, a great organization.”

Rays are one win away from the World Series as the ALCS returns to Tampa Bay tonight. Bucs blow a 16-3 lead in the fourth quarter to lose to the Steelers in OT as Jalon Daniels throws two INTs. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…
What does that mean? Everybody had a chance to draft him and didn’t. Many probably regret it. The Bucs didn’t draft him either so their evaluation was wrong. Having said that, he’s 60 of 98 for 501 yards (5.1 per attempt) with 3 TDs and 5 INTs while going 1-2. That’s not entirely special.
