On Wednesday. The day after Israels election. Israelis will wake up and still be in a racist, settler colonial state built on theft, rape & murder of Palestinians. Occupation, apartheid & genocide will not end with a change of prime minister. Zionism, not the leader is the issue!

At Cornell I met a student adjacent to the lefty/music scene who was building an autonomous drone startup. Asked him about it and he assured me it was just for search and rescue/disaster response. Earlier this year he sold it to a defense firm. They always sell to defense.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

If people dislike that 4 private corporations have monopolized the food industry, then why do they still eat food?
If people dislike Elon Musk so much, why do they still use the platform he owns?

He’s right btw, the academic definition of indigenous does not mean “people who were there first”, it’s a role in the colonizer-colonized dichotomy. When looking at the modern state of Israel and Palestinians, the application of “indigenous” to Palestinians is inarguable.
Jewish history in Palestine does not grant any "rights", Ben. And, look up "indigenous" in any dictionary. Indigenous people are the people living in a place when outside colonizers come and push them aside, kill them, destroy their society. Jews have long history in Palestine, but are not "indigenous" there. Why do you have such an obsession with Jews? I actually don't get it. I wish you'd stop already. You're giving us a bad name.

incompetent vibe coders have flooded every software-related community with projects that -no one will ever use -could have been a PR -took 3 days to make -won’t see a single commit after v1.0.0 this is an overcorrection but the anger is very understandable
The r/OpenSource subreddit has officially banned anything using AI. In any way. Violators will be permanently banned. Which means… r/OpenSource will ban anyone submitting anything that, in any way, involves… the Linux kernel. reddit.com/r/opensource/comm…

Many Airbnb hosts were originally landlords who evicted long-term tenants because they saw more profits to be made in the short-term rental market. Now they are hotel managers but they refuse to act like it. If you want the profits you’ve gotta work for it, can’t have it both way
its just bonkers the new policy @airbnb is trying to put in place. Putting the dishes in the dishwasher, taking out the trash, pulling the sheets off the bed....they are just standard things any normal person would do when staying at a house. Why wouldn't a host be allowed to say that?

I had to ask every single medical provider to wash their hands before touching my wounds or doing a procedure the last time I was in the hospital with a pneumothorax. They would always go for hand sanitizer and I’d have to specify: no, with soap and water. Every. Single. One.
I was recently at a medical appointment where they had a sign on the wall telling patients we have the right to ask clinicians to wash their hands. This did not help me feel safer or empowered.

I still remember when chrome put the tab bar above the address bar and we all went “fuck that makes so much sense”
The attachment between the tab and the page was literally the key defining characteristic of that UI element. It visually grouped the tab header with the page it controlled. The sloped edges of the tab also aided in differentiating foreground vs. background tabs. So they took that away and now everything is a floating pill.

If they tell you after filming that they're going to remove such things then tell them you're unwilling to have the episode go out and you withdraw your consent. Fight them. Make them waste time and money for this kind of homophobic and transphobic bullsht.

So when are you all gonna stRt boycotting the MCU? I'm tired that it has taken so long for people to start caring that it's been a vessel for imperialist propaganda for almost a decade or so now

"what was your biggest impact on the internet?" Super geek stuff, but probably: - When we golfed a Codepen clone in 142 bytes in 2013 (#1 on Hacker News) xem.github.io/miniCodeEditor… - When I wrote a Webgl guide in 2020 (featured in JS Weekly #489) xem.github.io/articles/webgl…
