#TBT Do you remember when the Rhythm Devils were on the cover of @modern_drummer in 1981? We had a great chat with Cheech Iero and Charley Perry.

On this day in 1977 at Winterland Arena, San Francisco, "Fire" appeared for the first time, closing the first set, following its eternal partner, "Scarlet Begonias."

For today's #TBT I'd like to acknowledge the inventor of the theremin, Lev Sergeyevich Termen (known in the West as Léon Theremin). Léon invented this incredible instrument in 1920 while doing Soviet government-sponsored research into proximity sensors.
This weekend was about the rhythm of giving, the heartbeat of community. A huge thank you to @MusiCares for honoring the @GratefulDead as Persons of the Year—but really, the honor is in being able to shine a light on the incredible work they do for musicians in need.

Disasters change lives. #MusiCares changes outcomes. From 2005 to now, @MusiCares has provided over $40 million in disaster aid to music professionals in need. This type of impactful relief wouldn’t be possible without the help of our donors – and with nearly 3,000 requests received and rising for those affected by the Greater LA wildfires, the need is greater than ever.
