With just one first name to go on, PC Max Kelly tracked down a burglary suspect who had targeted a vulnerable man in his own home twice in two weeks. By building trust with the victim, Max uncovered a crucial lead, matched it to police records and CCTV footage, and spotted the suspect as he travelled to make the arrest. Tyrone Muir, who pleaded guilty in court in July 2026, has now been sentenced to 3 years and 2 months in prison.

Our policing operation in response to protests today has begun and people can expect to see a large number of our officers in central London. An assembly by Stop the Hate is taking place by New Scotland Yard and protesters are arriving on the Embankment for the Palestine Coalition march. Conditions are in place for both events, as we detailed on X yesterday, and officers have the power to require anyone wearing a face covering to remove it if they reasonably believe it is being worn to conceal their identity. Updates on the protests will be posted on this thread.
