We love to see it.
Prime Minister @andyburnham has announced that, from 1 April 2027, disabled bus pass holders in England will be able to travel for free at any time of day
A fair chance at a future shouldn’t be a fairy tale. But for too many young disabled people, that’s exactly what it feels like.
Today, we joined the Disability Charities Consortium in writing an open letter to Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Nearly a million young people in the UK are not in education, employment or training, and almost half are disabled.
Young disabled people deserve the right support and opportunities to build the future they want.
We’re calling on the Government to help make that a reality.

A learning disability is a lifelong condition. So why are we repeatedly asked to prove something that cannot, and will not, ever change?
Ismail has a learning disability. He's been through PIP reassessment more than once, and like so many people, he found it stressful, exhausting and unnecessary.
Our new research shows, on average, 798 people with a learning disability go through PIP reassessments every month.
We want an end to unnecessary PIP reassessments for people with a learning disability. Do you agree?

Do you know the different types of learning disability?
A learning disability can be mild, moderate, severe or a profound and multiple learning disability (PMLD).

ALT A pink graphic with a girl writing on a piece of paper. Text reads "What does a learning disability look like?"

ALT Text-based graphic on a light pink background listing different types of learning disability: Mild, Moderate, Severe, and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). For accessibility, it's helpful to keep alt text focused on the information being communicated rather than describing decorative elements such as background shapes and colours unless they are important to understanding the content.
Too many children with a learning disability are misunderstood and miss out on quality education that works for them, simply because the right system is not there.
Every child deserves the right support to thrive in education.

People with a learning disability should be at the heart of research about their lives and healthcare.
Harry Roche, Research Advisor at Mencap, explains why people with a learning disability shouldn’t just take part in research, but help lead it: youtube.com/shorts/cj_xUZJ7q…
People with a learning disability are 37% more likely to be diagnosed with advanced stage cancer (BMJ Oncology, 2026).
The Seen, Heard, Screened exhibition shines a light on these health inequalities, highlighting what needs to change to make cancer screening more accessible.
We're proud to be delivering this project thanks to the generous funding provided by @OmazeUK.
