From stories about using wind to power cargo ships to about reducing food waste, this week of stories from NPR & member stations on climate solutions gives me hope. Huge thanks to the visionaries, editors and reporters @NPR who made this week possible! npr.org/series/1199537689/cl…
Thanks, @KHayhoe, for summing up the @Pontifex's new encyclical on the #climatecrisis. Check out her 🧵. @ReligionEnviro
Today, @pontifex released Laudato Deum, an update on the 2015 encyclical. It's not so much a breath of fresh air as it is a bucket of ice water, straight to the face of those who are standing in the way of and delaying climate progress. Here are a few highlights:

Happy to be included in @jruwitch 's @NPR story on sponge cities. The scale at which we've interfered with the water cycle is astounding. Up to 87% of wetlands drained, urban pavement doubled just since 1992. Sponge cities works, if at comparable scale. npr.org/2023/10/03/120225210…

The @NEAQ was able to tag a record 14 turtles this summer with the help of additional funding.
