A #digitalart manifesto v0.1
The following can be said about the state of digital art at the time of this tweet 11/3/2021

Peter Thiel on the importance of how you name your company:
“I believe very strongly that the names of companies are often very predictive of future failure or success.”
“PayPal was a very friendly name—it was the friend that helps you pay.”
“Napster was a bad name—you nap some music, you nap a kid… that sounds like a bad thing to be doing, and it's no wonder the government then comes in and shuts the company down within a few years.”
“You want to be very careful how you name companies.”
“I like Airbnb way more than Uber. Airbnb sounds like this very innocent, virtual bread & breakfast—a very light, non-threatening company. Uber—that sounds like a bad name from Germany sometime in the 1930s. What are you exactly above? The law?”
“Facebook was a very good name. MySpace was a more problematic name.”
“Facebook was about learning about people around you, about the real identities at Harvard. MySpace started among the actors in LA. It was about coming up with fictional narratives around themselves.”
“There's a certain version where the whole arc of the company—the whole product arc—was implicit in the names.”
@tylercowen asked Thiel what he thinks about the name “United States”:
“I'd be sympathetic to the 19th-century spelling where the U was lowercase.”

I’m trying an experiment similar to @zxocw’s living off of Bitcoin in 2013. I am converting as much of my life, family and business to run on @SpaceX (incl @Tesla) as possible. Looking for feedback on the evolving list which includes some predictions on forthcoming products:
Home & office internet: @Starlink
Everyday transport: @Tesla Model X
Weekend transport: Roadster
Foundation model: @grok (with decentralized inference from next-gen Megapack by 2028)
Boat/Plane: I predict an autonomous electric yacht and business jet by 2035.
Phone: @Tesla edge node device will replace iPhone by 2029.
Home energy: Powerwall with solar on roof from @Tesla.
Corporate: @Dialectic_Group runs on a substrate of coordinated @bot swarms already.
Bank account: @XMoney
Investments: Literally just buy $SPCX & outperform.🤷♂️
Social media, news & education: @X
Intercontinental travel: Starport city-to-city by 2033. @robotaxi in most cities by 2029.
@Tesla_Optimus robots for help around the house, farm, kids, cooking, cleaning, looking after animals, etc. This one is the big unlock. Expect to have a few by 2028.
My thesis is that there are massive synergies and opportunities that arise from the convergence of these technologies under a unified company that allow for a truly optimized life. The $SPCX acquisition of $TSLA is fundamental for such an experiment.
incredible work, huge fan, congrats
only wish superRare would render images larger!
Unfinished Past is live!
Suggest using the zoom feature in SuperRare; it'll help you see the pieces as they truly are 🫡

The AB5D situation needs an explanation, especially for the 14 people still waiting for their Debits
Here's what happened 👇
Some days ago a CryptoPunk holder @maxand98, swept 50 Debits from @opensea and gave them away for free. Wubbushi then gifted him another 50 Debits.
And right after receiving those 50 free Debits, Maxand announced the AB5D gifting offer.
The offer was simple: gift an AB[500] NFT through ab5d.xyz and receive a Debit + Spot if available, or a Perp when the Debits ran out.
He also said he'd be buying Debits to fund Spot and Perps.
People started gifting their NFTs, and 173 works came in from 73 wallets. 90 of them were Friendship Bracelets NFTs.
Later, Maxand bought 109 Debits and used them to settle 109 Perps.
But 14 Perps remained open, and the desk was closed.
Now the question is, what happens to those 14 people? They spent ETH to gift their NFTs after the offer was announced, expecting their Perps to eventually settle when Debits returned.
I ain't ignoring the 109 people who received their Debits. But the remaining 14 deserve a clear answer too.
Is there a plan to settle those Perps, or are those people just supposed to wait indefinitely? @maxand98 👀
If I'm missing something, please explain. I just want clarity for everyone who participated.
Not sure how @thefunnyguysNFT and small team are shipping so fast
I am running 6 computers, max cloud and local models, tailscale and agent teams and getting 1% of this done

Thanks to @Hackatao and @BnoiitC for this! Great listen
i came across this in the middle of creating collector profiles for xcopybook.com
originally i thought i was just going to make a book about the artist and the artwork but gradually i realised that cryptoart is an equal triumvirate
Artist, Art, and Collector, all equal, with no intermediary
I have had to recast the whole thing, as many of the collector profiles are just as compelling as the artwork and artist
Still a wip, because there are subtleties around wallet and identity doxxing i'm trying to get right, but you can learn more about this wonderful OG collector

I opened a desk so that when you gave ab5d.xyz an AB[500] work, you got one of Wubbushi's Debits plus a Spot. When the Debits ran out, you got a Perp, and a place in the queue.
Then i went to bed
173 works came in from 73 wallets. 90 were Friendship Bracelets.
The desk bought the cheapest work it could find. So the order book chose the friend, and it chose Friendship Bracelets 90 times.
Six people gave me Total Strangers.
Aristotle described kinds of friendship: utility, pleasure, and virtue. Only the last loves the friend for the friend's sake.
Not one bracelet was given because it was loved. Each came with a Debit or a ticket attached.
He splits the utility friendship in two. The "legal" kind is paid on the spot. The "moral" kind is a gift that expects a return later.
A Spot is the first. A Perp is the second. Aristotle says that is where the complaints come from.
The 50 Spots went in 38 minutes. Bots maybe? Traders? Surprisingly fast.
Friendship of virtue needs time and long acquaintance.
Wubbushi cites Rauschenberg erasing a de Kooning.
I tried to gift Wubbushi Debits back into circulation, and Wubbushi erased the gift by GIFTING ME MORE.
I bought 109 Debits and used them to pay 109 of the Perps. But only after a wait. Make the DMs stop
the Nietzschean view that has stuck with me for many years is that in charity, the giver gets more out of it than the one who receives.
the benefactor loves more, and the one in debt would rather the creditor did not exist.
I am now the creditor
14 Perps stay open. They're perps after all! There was fine print! Did your agents miss it?
That is the giver's debt. A gift that settles cleanly is a trade.
Gifting has to be painful, and this was painful in many ways: the ETH, the open debts, the DM's that hated on me.
The desk is closed. The pieces in the collection are now not all chosen by me. I am not even a collector now! I gave that away too.
But ab5d.xyz is never going to give you up.
