As Reform continues to decline hopefully we are within reach of the Conservatives overtaking Labour?
...or even possibly get a job?
Andy Burnham attacked the Conservatives’ plans to cut £36bn from welfare spending, suggesting that cutting benefits would force people to turn to crime.

Heaven help us.
Labour succeeds in getting Dapo Akande elected to the ICJ.
Acting for Zambia in Mauritius’ 2019 case at the ICJ, Akande supported the motion calling for the UK to give away the Chagos Islands “as rapidly as possible.” He argued the case was “about the international law obligations regarding decolonisation” and that it should not be seen as a “purely bilateral dispute.”
Akande, a legal scholar at Oxford, also advised the Corbyn Labour opposition in 2018 that the UK’s bombing of Syria did not comply with international law following the notorious Douma chemical attack.
He additionally co-authored an article arguing that triggering the Trident deterrent “would not be acting lawfully” and would be “neither necessary nor proportional for either repelling an on-going attack or for stopping an imminent one.“
Oh, and he praised the “brilliant” work of Julian Assange’s lawyers to the Kremlin mouthpiece Sputnik.
indeed
I remember when everyone was jumping ship to Reform.
It was the popular thing to do at the time, and most people were expecting me to go too.
Of course I thought about it. Most people joining were very similar to me ideologically and I’ve always respected Nigel.
But I have never been one to just do the easy thing and follow the crowd for a quick win.
I could see that Kemi was taking the Conservative Party is a genuinely new - and crucially conservative - direction.
As a conservative I’ve always felt like the Conservative Party should be where I belong. After years of being let down and disappointed, I finally feel like we are getting somewhere.
And as the polls tighten and Kemi continues to shine, I am reminded that sometimes in politics, it’s worth playing the long game.
Quite. This issue will not end with Burnham’s ’apology’. The grifters will sense weakness and will be back for even more hard cash now that they have the language for a legal claim.
Exposing Labour lies over Defence spending
Replying to @wesstreeting
This is a straight forward lie Wes. You know what i said was both Labour and Conservatives hollowed out defence. Be man enough to admit it. Lies dont hide your own record. The last government to spend 3% of GDP ( without all your treasury tricks) was a Conservative one. MOD now spends 2.2% GDP and you are cutting day to day spending this year and next. many veterans, like me who served under a Labour government never forget the Snatch Landrover scandal. If you want to be taken seriously as a Defence Secretary stop playing child like politics. Earn your respect by sticking up for the armed forces, fighting the Treasury for real funding not spin and be honest about Labours part in hollowing out. At the moment your fake claims on 2.7% GDP coupled with under funding day to day spending are a perfect example of hollowing out. @haynesdeborah @larisamlbrown

🚨BREAKING: The John Lewis Christmas Advert 2026 has become one of the worst reviewed in the stores history
The comments on YouTube have been TURNED OFF
There are currently 5 times the dislikes as there are likes
The Plot:
- Entitled children ignore their Grandmother, won't even hug her
- She tries to give them nice, simple, meaningful toys to play with, they ignore her
- She goes to John Lewis to buy expensive toys
- The kids now love her
It's an awful message featuring a diverse family as always
Sadly agree ( and I’m normally a regular John Lewis shopper at Christmas). Was this focus grouped?
Totally agree. It’s possibly the worst advert I’ve ever seen for anything. Would actively dissuade me from going to @JohnLewisRetail - what on earth were they thinking?
I see that you have turned off replies. Quite understandable when you now make claims that a councillor in Penn Hill is going to sort out national immigration policy. Do you actually read what you post?
Just watched it. I agree. I was shocked. I hope my grandchildren never behave like that (or they won't be coming for Christmas)
Good grief, but the John Lewis Xmas advert is AWFUL.
It's basically an advert for buying gifts for ungrateful kids with terrible parents.
The grandchildren are just plain rude. The parents don't notice or care. So the grandma decides to splash the cash on gifts she thinks they will like - so rewarding their rudeness!
If I had a kid who behaved like that, they wouldn't be getting a single gift on Christmas Day. Not one.
Oh, and of COURSE the ad has to feature a mixed race family (who make up 1.3% of all British families yet about 50% of families appearing in TV adverts) because, y'know, diversity.
It's all so bloody irritating. 🙄
