Election night 2024, I woke up at 3:30 AM, checked my phone, and went into my living room and sobbed. Gut-wrenching sobs. My husband woke up, and we just stood there in disbelief. I’d never cried over an election before, but I knew things were going to get bad. And fuck, was that an understatement.
Last night, when Texas was called for Talarico and then Hinojosa, I walked into the kitchen where my husband was making his lunch and sobbed again.
I genuinely didn’t believe that, after all of MAGA’s fuckery, Democrats could win so resoundingly.
For the first time in my life, I cried tears of joy over an election.
