People waiting for cancer treatment aren’t just a number on a waiting list.
Delays can mean more uncertainty, anxiety and, in some cases, fewer treatment options.
We need urgent action to improve the whole cancer experience, so people get the care and support they need, when they need it.

With sunny spells set to stay, we’ve put together some essentials for enjoying the sunlight safely and responsibly. 😎
Please remember to protect your skin from too much sunlight.
You may need to be extra careful in the sun after cancer treatment, which can make your skin more sensitive, or prone to burning more easily.

Congratulations @SharonHodgsonMP on her appointment as the new Minister for Public Health and Prevention.
We look forward to working together to make the National Cancer Plan for England a reality and improve the lives of the growing number of people who are diagnosed with cancer in the UK.
We welcome @SharonHodgsonMP to the department as Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Public Health and Prevention.
It has been a privilege to work with @AshleyDalton_MP. She brought an invaluable depth of lived experience that helped ensure the realities of people living with cancer are reflected at the heart of the National Cancer Plan for England.
Sending our best wishes ahead of treatment.

This morning on @BBCBreakfast, Macmillan's Chief Partnerships Officer,
Steven McIntosh, spoke about the new National Cancer Plan for England.
Almost 3.5m people are living with cancer in the UK, and someone is diagnosed every 75 seconds. Yet too many still aren’t getting the care they need, often depending on who they are or where they live.
The Plan has the right ambition. Now we need to see it deliver with the NHS, charities, communities working together, with Macmillan ready to play its part. It’s not just about living longer, it’s about living well.

A message from The Princess of Wales on World Cancer Day #WorldCancerDay
This #WorldCancerDay, @wesstreeting and the @DHSCgovuk launched a new National Cancer Plan for England. Now that someone is diagnosed with cancer at least every 75 seconds around the UK, this marks a major opportunity to improve lives and transform cancer care over the next decade.

We’re committed to making cancer care the best it can be for everyone, no matter who they are or where they live. We worked closely with communities and partners across England to ensure that it focused on improving patients’ experiences, and addresses the unacceptable inequalities in cancer care.
We’re now ready to play our part in making the ambitions of this plan a reality for everyone.
