Just another day for @BCConservCaucus
This morning 28 organizations from the Muslim community called for their campaign director’s resignation for anti-Islam comments.

Today, I joined Amanda Burrows to announce plans for stable funding for the Ashtrey Recovery Resource Centre and a new daytime support centre in the Downtown Eastside.
As a former VPD officer who walked the beat in the DTES, I know that public safety requires more than policing. We need to address the challenges on our streets while ensuring people experiencing homelessness have access to the help they need.
The proposed new centre would operate 12 hours a day, seven days a week, providing a safe indoor space and connections to healthcare, addiction treatment, recovery and employment services.
This announcement is about getting people indoors, connecting them with services, and addressing the challenges facing our downtown communities with compassion and practical supports.

Hateful rhetoric has no place in British Columbia.
The Pakistani community is a part of our province’s strength and diversity. I stand with Pakistani Canadians in condemning this hatred. Every community deserves dignity, respect, and safety.

Let’s keep Vancouver-Fraserview moving forward. 🍊 Aman Singh is your BC NDP candidate, dedicated to #housing, #healthcare, and strong community support. Let’s protect our progress together. Make your plan to vote for Aman Singh on Saturday, October 24!
The current conservative leader had the chance to remove extremist candidates from his team, and he didn't.
He's welcoming people with hateful views in his party and he intends to put them in positions of power.
That's not just wrong, it's a profound mistake.

5 questions and he can’t even say he will defend gay people from homophobia coming from his candidates.
Can’t even say the word gay.

We need to be clear what we are talking about here.
Heather Maahs doesn’t believe everyone in BC should have the same civil rights. She doesn’t believe in a woman’s right to bodily autonomy and healthcare. She supports and endorses homophobia.
This isn’t just one video- she’s made this clear numerous times, notably inviting a homophobic and anti-choice lobby group to Victoria to have lunch in the Hall of Honour. There’s no ambiguity here.
Lorne says he doesn’t share her views, and that respect and safety are important to him- so why run a candidate that British Columbians need to be kept safe from?

“Conflating the gay community with pedophilia is deeply homophobic, and there should be no place for this kind of hate in a party that hopes to lead this province,” said B.C. NDP candidate Spencer Chandra Herbert.”

Friday night in Nelson means Leafs hockey. The team has been part of this town since 1968, with five league championships and a bear named Bud leading the cheers.
Rinks like this are where small towns come together, and it was great to be at the game with @BrittnyAnderso and Nelson's fans.
Today in Kelowna I committed to taking on the grocery giants to protect your family from rising costs.
Big grocery chains have been using inflation as cover to jack up prices, while the billionaire families behind Loblaws and Save-On grew their wealth by $4.4 billion last year alone.
My plan:
1. Cap corporate profits on milk, eggs, butter, cheese, chicken and turkey
2. Stop them from blocking new grocery stores
3. End shrinkflation with clear unit pricing
4. Ban surveillance pricing
5. Give local grocers a fair shot with a new food terminal in the Lower Mainland
The conservative parties won't stand up to the grocery giants. I will.
Let's keep building BC strong.
Every trip to the grocery store costs more, and you and your family should be protected at the till when you check out.
We cut child care costs in half and cut car insurance by $500. Now my plan takes on the grocery giants to protect you from rising costs on the basics.
The conservative parties won't stand up to the big guys. I will. That's how we build B.C. strong.

This is blatant homophobia and hate. It has no place in BC, let alone in a party that wants to lead this province.
Lorne Doerkson needs to fire her. Immediately.

So far- we’ve got “everyone should have caught Covid” and “all gay people are pedophiles”
Trying to be normal isn’t going really well for ol’ Lone. The question is- will they do the right thing and drop these candidates or endorse these views and campaign on them? #bcpoli

Conservative candidate Heather Maahs has accused BC’s gay community of being pedophiles.
It's not about SOGI- it's open homophobia.
The BC Conservatives have accepted this for years. Tomorrow’s deadline gives Lorne Doerkson the opportunity to change that - if he cares.

Meet Anna Kindy, the BC Conservatives' 'health' critic.
Vaccine misinformation made the pandemic worse and has cost Canada its measles elimination status.
Lorne Doerkson should fire her today. B.C. can't afford conservative chaos and health care cuts.
