Field Notes from JFK: Shared Dreams on the Staging Lot 🗽✈️
Spent the day at the JFK parking lot listening directly to driver feedback. The responses were raw and honest: some drivers pointed out that trip volume needs to scale faster, while others expressed full commitment to Throo because they want a fair alternative in NYC.
One conversation stood out. I met Abrahim, a driver originally from Guinea, who shared his dream of building a commercial chicken farm back home to empower his local community.
I told Abrahim that his vision is exactly why we built Throo. We are still early in our journey, but our core mission is to give earnings control back to drivers so they can fund their own dreams—whether that means building a business abroad or supporting a family here in New York.

Tough Questions at JFK: Addressing Real Driver Concerns 🗽✈️
During a visit to the JFK staging lot, I crossed paths with Mr. Havir, a sharp-looking black car driver who didn't hold back.
He asked a direct, critical question: "I saw the news about Throo, you only did a couple thousand trips in June. How is Throo actually going to help drivers earn more?"
I gave him the straightforward truth: We are still in our early phase, but the underlying trajectory is moving fast. Last week, we surpassed 50,000 registered riders, with over 1,000 new users joining the app every single day. Scaling demand to consistently feed all 54,000+ drivers on our network takes time, but with our current growth rate, it is purely a matter of execution.
Building trust requires transparency. As we scale, I will continue showing up at the parking lots, taking hard questions, and refining our platform alongside our drivers.
